Photojournalistic Photography is taking over the East Coast by storm. Photojournalistic Photography is a very different style. The artist photographs your special day from a behind-the-scenes point of view and uses black and white film exclusively. Cassarino Studios has several photojournalistic photographers on staff. The norm is to hire a photojournalistic black and white photographer in addition to the traditional photographer who mostly photographs portraits in color. The cost to hire a black and white photographer varies around the country. In New York, the going rate is approximately $1,000.

Photojournalistic is candid - not posed shots which are taken in b&w. The result is telling a story through pictures. You have to look at some samples - you will fall in love. Its great for those who dont photo well in those wierd poses. You don't have to hire a separate guy to take photojournalistic pictures. We are using PHoto by Verdi and he will take both.

Re: what is photo/journalistic???
my understanding is that photojournalism is not candid...
candids are candids...but when you do photojournalism...there are no formals...no posed...the photographer takes tons of pictures trying to tell a story of the day...like a picture of you putting on a shoe, your arm going up to fix your hair...etc...
in this style you wouldn't have line up and smile pics...
I think this is technically what it is...but most people think candids...just talk to your photog before hand

Re: what is photo/journalistic???
Do the photos have to be B/w? My photographer mentioned that a roll of b/w films will be 75 dollars! So I stopped considering it after hearing that. I though photojournalistic photos can be in color too...
