Re: Moving in with future-in-laws

Good luck with everything! I am in the same boat...my FH is coming here to live with me and my mom. Like you, we will be saving a great deal of money by not having our own place right now.

Like I said, Good luck with everything! I hope it works out well!!

WOW!!! I could never do that! Do you have your own apartment in the house? That's great that you get along with them though and it really is a great opportunity to save money.

Re: Moving in with future-in-laws

I have been living with FH family fro 1 year today actually. We have our own apartment sort of with a mini kitchen (no oven or stove) big living room and bedroom. But his family comes in to let out the dog to the yard and stuff so its not totally private. But it has been a great way to save money and I haven't had any problems with them. I do miss having my own place but now we shoudl be able to afford a house after the wedding so it was/is worth it.

Good luck!

Good for you. However, living with either set of parents is not for every couple but to each their own.

Lucky you! Its great that you get along well, it wont be so painful....

I love my FILs but I think I'd rather call the whole thing off than live with them! And I'd bet that FH feels the same about my family!

It's wonderful that you get along so well with the FIL's!!! Just make sure to keep your personal space and it will all work out!

Re: Moving in with future-in-laws

I moved in with my future-in-laws while my fiance and I waited for our place to be ready, but it was only for three weeks. Since I was moving away from my family, it was great! It also gave me a chance to really become 'part of the family'. It was a really wonderful experience. I think it would have been ok for the amount of time that you're doing it too, as long as the FH and his parents get along well (you don't want to be stuck in the middle if they don't). Good luck!

Best of luck! I know I couldn't do it, but I know lots of people who do.
