I really didn't like Michelle Roth in the city...the salesgirl was RUDE and the place was broiling hot and really primitive in my opinion....

Re: Do you have BRIDAL STORE horror Stories/ bad experiences???

When i got my dress (a few years ago... i was engaged before) i was at Flowerama in ELmont. I bought the dress and i went in to show my MOH. The girl got nasty with me and said 'you can't jsut walk in here and do that'. I said 'well i just bought a $2000 dress from you, AND using your vendors, so i think that entitles me to be able to do whatever I want!!!' Snotty wench!
The woman who helped me was very nice though.

Re: Do you have BRIDAL STORE horror Stories/ bad experiences???

There is a place in Astoria I cant remember the name right now that was beyond a nightmare.

I first called them to see if they carried a dress and the guy on the phone told me yes.

So I go and I brought one BM and my mom. I showed him the picture and the guy said no we dont carry that brand and besides you cant wear something like that because you're too big busted, let me show you what I have.

So he pulls out 6 dresses and tells me ok go with her and put them on. I put on the dress and its hideous. I wanted to cry and not happy tears. I said I dont like the beads i want no beads. So what does he do, he pulls out a dress with a thousand more beads on it.

after 6 dresses I was getting Pissed off. He was trying to fix something and put his hand down the front of my dress. My BM almost slapped him and we all told him off.

I said listen this is what I want, do you have what I want and he got really nasty with me and told me no i dont have it. I said well why couldnt you just tell me that before this BS. goodbye.

It was an absolute horror. I'll look that name up for you later and FM it to you

As far as stores I would say Princess Bridals in Farmindgale. I wanted to slap the first sales person when me and my mom walked in. After she proceeds to ask me questions in an obnoxious manner, she looks over to the other girl and says you are helping them. W T F! Never went back
and am getting my gown through Lillettes. BEST Place!!!
See Gerri.

Re: Do you have BRIDAL STORE horror Stories/ bad experiences???

I would stay away from Adrienne's in Islip. Although I did not have a problem really with my wedding gown, two of my out of state bridesmaids had major problems with them when it came time for alterations. Since they were coming out of state, they often had to take time off of work to be fitted, when they came for their second fitting their dresses weren't fixed with the first fittings requirements. Adrienne's also decided to cancel their appointments 5 minutes before they were scheduled to come even though they had already driven to LI to come for their fitting. This happened during the whole alteration process and the seamstress they had for the bridesmaids was extremely rude. The day before my wedding I got into a screaming fight with the owner, because I refused to pay the alteration fee since my bridesmaids dress was not finished when she came to pick it up the day before my wedding.

I had a horrible experience at David's Bridal in Carle Place. I would tell anyone and everyone to not go there. Very unprofessional.

Definitely, without a doubt, Bridal Couture of Manhasset. Everyone is HORRIBLE there and I've had the WORST experience. I know many other people who have had similar experiences at Bridal Couture. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!

ps: I brought the 7 On Your Side story (interning there at the time) to the producers about the trade-center fiancee who couldn't get a refund on her dress after her fiance was killed. SHould have learned my lesson then!

I agree with everyone else here (execpt flowerrama, i was never there) I am having a horror with commack wedding center now. they were supposed to order extra material for one of my girls, in january, and never did. it's still not in and the wedding is next saturday and the girl is very upset that she can't have her dress fitted because of their problem.
and to top it all off the owner, Bob came down to them and told them to shut up because they were to loud. they were arguing about the service there.
Some people....
sorry to carry on...

OMG! Tracy! the same thing with me!!! I had ordered my gown and then went back with one of my bm's and my MOH to look at dresses for them.. the stupid blonde girl at the front hissed at me and yelled at them for going back there.. I did the same as you and then when we saw this one dress we liked, I asked that being I haev 12 girls that would be buying dresses and possibly my mother, could she do something with the price, she said she doesn't think so and wouldn't know until I ordered it! LOL!!

I haev been really nice with them but can't wait to get my dress and then tell them off! lol it's wrong for them to treat people like that.. I must say though that the woman who helped me the day I found my gown was a doll! not pushy or anything..

Blanchee Boutique in East Rockaway! They are so rude. I went to see dresses by 2 designers that I thought I might like. They didn't have dresses by either designer, even though they supposedly carry them. That was fine, I tried on others. But, I wanted my fiancee to come into the back by the dressing room (he helped me pick out my dress:) and the lady yelled at him and said 'you can't go in there!'. I said 'Yes he can, I'd like his help'-there were no other girls there and she said she just 'didn't think he should see me in a wedding dress' (hello, that's my choice). She let him come back, but then when I asked who the designer of a dress I liked was she said 'why should I tell you, so you can go to another store and get it cheaper?'. Needless to say I took the dress off and walked out.

I got my dress at Kleinfelds, but also visited Priscilla of Boston and several designers in the city. They were all great, especially Priscilla.

By the time this thread is over, there isn't a bridal store on Long Island that anyone will go to.

I just wanted to say that I got my dress at Flowerama in Elmont and have had NO problems. The manager was very nice to me and gave me a discount on the dress, veil and tiara. The salesperson I dealt with was Emily.

I had a HORRIBLE expereince with Simple Dress in the city... where I got my BM dresses... they sent one of them the wrong dress, wrongs size, wrong length, sent them later then promised (cutting it close to date) and gave me such a stink about exchanging the wrong BM dress. For the amount of $$ we paid you think they'd be a bit more accomidating!
