We feed our puppies Blue Buffalo. The vet seemed happy with the choice and said it was one of the better ones out there. One of our dogs has some allergies as well and has done very well on the Fish and Potato. They both really like the food.

I've never heard of Wellness before. Where do you ladies that use it buy it? What is the cost like?

Petco has a pretty good natural dog food section and they carry it. I always see wellness in the little dog boutiques too. OH! They even sell it at wholefood. The availability is the only thing that made me choose it over blue buffalo.

I don't remember the exact price but just checked online at petco and it seems to go for around $30 for a 15 lbs bag

I know petco carries some wellness but doesn't always carry CORE...or didn't. I get mine at a pet store near me and its pricey..like 53 bucks a bag. same price at petco. 26 lbs btw

Thanks ladies! I will check into these as well.

Read the ingredients when you choose a food, the first listed should be MEAT: chicken, lamb, beef etc. Not corn, potato, or by product! Alot of commercial foods are just full of garbage!

totally true. FH and I eat organic, so does our pup haha

i just looked at the food i feed my Belle. Its Natures Recipe... the easy to digest formula ( they have ones for the coat as well) i really like it for her.. it eases her digestive tract a lot... and i can actually pronounce all the ingrediants in it. its mostly chicken barley and rice... and surprisingly its quite affordable at Petco... actually less than the Beniful i used to feed her b4 she got sick again...

science diet but the natural one

i used to feed them nutro, but with all the recalls and investigations, i stopped it

i totally agree that you should be feeding them something organic

and yes petco has quite a few options!

When I had my dog I only fed him Wellness. If you see anything in the ingredients that says by product dont use it!!

I used to feed Canidae but the pet store by us doesnt sell it anymore... we switched to Beneful... and Jessie has done better on beneful than any other food... i know its considered 'bad' by dogfoodanaylsis.com but i dont like changing her food when she's doing so well on it

ours eats Iams weight control as per our vet! She is on a strict diet..., 1/4 cup dog food plus 2/3 cup mixed veggies 2 times a day!

does anyone know anything about nutro? i thought it was really good, but reading this thread is making me nervous! my dog has eaten it his whole life and he is in excellent shape.

I have to agree with Wellness!!!! They have different flavors available, so you can switch it up. My dog loves it and he is very healthy!!! People always comment on how shiny and soft his hair is, too.

I buy it at a small pet store near me, and it's cheaper there than at Petco.

Nutro Natural Choice - Chicken, Rice and Oatmeal and we throw in some of the Lamb and Rice formula as well for their coats. It's good for sensitive stomachs and all natural. We were using wellness but it was too rich for them and they both got belly aches from it. Natural choice is perfect for them.

Our dogs only eat all natural food and treats. They LOVE Flossies - great for their teeth.
