Fairfield in commack ahs recently redone alot of things. It is really nice. By Best friend lives there. they pay 1950 for a 2 bed 2 bath. So it is expensive but I can tell you that if I could afford it I would be living there.

09er crashing - try the harbour club in West Babylon. I just moved out of there after DH and I closed on our house after living there for 10 years! I loved it.

Also, Avalon has a complex in Melville that friends of ours lived in for about a year which was very nice:

Those avalon apartments in smithtown are gorgeous (and pretty much across the street from me!!)

i'm pretty sure avalon is a chain and they have them in a lot of towns. Check it out!

We're looking to move east and have decided we'd like an apartment complex. Tired of dealing with lazy landlords who don't do anything. Plus the complex's usually have nice featurs like pool/gym/etc. Does anyone know of any complexs near Melville, Huntington, Hauppauge, Dix Hills, Commack? We're willing to go to any of those towns. I love this complex but it's in Smithtown which is about 20 min east of where we want to be: Complex
Also, it MUST allow pets. tia

I have lived in the Commack Fairfield, all in all a nice apartment, a little expensive and the management sux but nice clean-safe place to live. Parking is horrible there though.

Avalon is good but that is also a little pricey...Avalon has a complex in Melville as well.

What are you looking to spend monthly?

I do not recommend Lake Grove Apartments. I work in Melville, but FH works in Port Jefferson and we did get a good deal, and we have a pool/gym.

It's part of Home Properties. We have had issues up and down. Don't go for any complex in connection with Home Properties. In our experience, they are awful when it comes to repairs.

Avalon does have a ton of locations... but I think they are pricey!

I lived in a Fairfield and the Management *****. They don't respond to calls, the don't take care of anything. Sure the apartments are nice and new and clean but they are a NIGHTMARE to deal with. Try Harbour Club in Babylon!! My cousin lived there and she loved it. They have a pool and a club house, it sooo close to the water.

There's Townhouse Village in Hauppauge. It's quite nice there. I don't know how many apartments they have, but it would be worth it to look into.

LB has an avalon complex that is awesome! Pricey, but worth it. Right on the beach. I know it isn't north, but the commute to melville only taks about 35 minutes....
