I am getting married at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, it is right on the beach and beautiful. There is also the Atlantica in Westahampton; it is on the beach and gorgeous as well! There are so many other BEAUTIFUL waterfront locations! If you like you can go to www.receptionhalls.com and do a specific search for your needs. Good luck!

A beautiful OCEAN front reception site is Atlantica out in the hamptons...you can even marry barefoot in the sand - If we could have afforded it, we would have picked this place over Giorgios because of the oceanfront setting....

Someone mentioned Captain Bill's in Bayville (??) to me as a possible location. I can't give you an opinion on it, I didn't go look at it, but the pictures on the website look pretty!! And its on the water. Good luck!!

No, you didn't seem argumentive, I had the same problem with Cresent Beach Club, they were rude and kept us waiting a long time, we actually walked out on them. But that's like every place, there is always going to be some disgruntled employee....

With so many people on Long Island, it will be hard to find a place that is TRULY unique just b.c of all the weddings, and that being almost EVERYONE's goal. I have been to weddings at the lighthouses, where its 'barefoot black tie' very cute, and very different. You rent a tent and all the catering needs so that will cost quite a lot.

My adivce, is to find a place you like, and make it different or unique in your own special way. (***see kmcwed*** she did a great job!!! )

I haven't seen it but my mom had suggested a place for mine, she thinks it's beautiful: DeSeversky Center on 25A in Brookville. It's part of NYIT's Culinary Institute. We couldn't use it b/c it only holds like 125 I think. It was her dream place.

what about renting a house on the water and having it catered?

there are a few ladies on the board doing that (not sure who) and they went through a woman who takes care of those things...

also what about Vanderbilt Planetarium/Museum (NOT mansion) in Cneterport...you would also have to have it catered...but it overlooks Centerport Harbor and it has beautiful grounds...

I think I would have done that if I had known that I could have before I booked my hall (I grew up near it)

Capt Bills in Bayshore is on the water, but I ahve never been to a wedding there, but I heard the food at the restaurant is awesome.

I got married at the Glen Island Harbour Club and absolutely loved it. The decor, service & food was amazing.

My friend is getting merried this september and for the reception she rented a place on Fire Island, where they will have cocktail party. I think house rentals are nice, and the party can be as casual/relaxed/fun as you like.

How many guests do you expect? If it's not that many, you can also look at waterfront B and B's on the east end and rent the whole place out for a weekend.

it would be a lot of fun! But I agree very hard and annoying, especially if they don't stay over and have to catch the last ferry!

How about Coindre Hall in Huntington (iverlooking the harbor)? I believe Lessings and one other caterer will do a wedding there. DeSeversky mansion is beautiful but small - I went to friend's wedding there but it was about 150 so not everyone had a seat - It was cocktail style.

I second the Vanderbilt in Centerport - beautiful grounds...there is a site fee.

Capt Bill's was very nice - I went to a wedding there about a year & a half ago.

We looked at Atlantica...it is very small. Not to offend anyone, but I think it photographs better than it looks in person. But the view of the ocean can't be beat!

The Carlyle in Eisenhower park is stunning (priced similarly to Oheka - ~ $200 pp)...and the Carltun is very pretty too...neither of these are on the water but they are both 'unique' places (at least imo).

What about one of the yahts (like they had the gtg on this past weekend), or one out of the city. We thought about doing that but I really wanted a holiday wedding and thought it would be too cold!

Atlantis Marine World (the aquarium) does weddings. Just an idea.

Have you looked at either Port Washington Yact Club or Manhasset Bay YAcht Club. Both are on the water but not on the beach.

I am getting married at Captain Bills. I only have wonderful things to say about my experience with them so far. However, it isn't all that different from other reception sites except for the fact that it is right on the water.

It might be worth a look for you! It really is beautiful, without being Tacky!
