So I have a really random and most likely dumb question:

FH & I are still looking at houses, even though this is the only thing that ever makes me so frustrated I cry lol, and we're going to look at one tomorrow that might be perfect. BUT, our dumb luck, we're going away from Sat-Fri, then we're away that Sat & Sun upstate. So, has anyone ever gone in vacation right in the middle of looking at/potentially putting in bids for a house?

This is what cell phones are for! You can't put your life on hold because you're buying a house. As you know I'm stressed to but I keep remembering what my good friend keeps telling me... what is meant to be, will be!!!

Yes, same here! I was kind of freaked out about that at first but we honestly didn't miss anything. You can always check emails on the phone, laptop, etc. Anything that moved that quickly we would have missed out on anyway. Even now that we are in contract, we went away for almost a week and didn't have to actually be here for anything, we just get updates once in a while until closing now!

Thanks! We have no idea what is needed of us during that process, so didn't know if we'd have to be around to sign things, etc. FH's house in florida is a pure vacation home - no cable, no internet. We try to avoid going to the library down there because a) the staff is always mean bc we're not the homeowners and they won't give us a library card (!?) and b) if we see emails from students we're the type who havvveee to respond. My phone gets pretty good service down there, but FH's not so much. Love the seclusion on the island but maybe not so much right now lol.

Ohh... hmmm... if you are just looking right now then you should be fine, and it might be nice to take a break. While looking, we had lists of houses we wanted to see, but our realtor actually found quite a few more than we knew about, so when you get back I'm sure he/she will have some for you and you can get right back to it!
The only time we had to sign stuff was to go get pre-qualified, then the next was to finally sign the contract and sign more stuff for the actual mortgage qualification.
It moves sloooow.... haha
