XP: doc dilemma

OOOOOOOOOOOH, that's a doozie!

Did you get the feeling that she's holding it hostage?

Show up, pick it up, and search through your bag and say you left the letter at home and you'll fax it to her...

Then fax her a letter about the good things that she DID do... And TELL her what she can improve upon...

I agree-I would send someone else, if you don't want to recommend her. Tell her after you get your cake topper, that you weren't overly impressed with her services and don't fell comfortable wring a letter of recommendations. Be honest.

I don't think that services should be exchanged for a letter of recommendation, especially when you have to agree to the letter ahead of time. But, what's done is done.

What you might consider doing: write a letter addressing the good and bad. Inform her in the letter that if she can make good on her mistakes, you will write another letter, addressing the things that you liked about her services.

This is what I would do. This way you get your topper back and at least she will know what you didnt like so that she can improve on it. If she is truly interested in this profession than she shouldnt be upset with you being honest with her-you would be helping her not hurting her really. Good Luck, I hope you get your topper back soon
