So tonight FH and my parents and I went out to dinner. We discussed our engagement party and what we were going to do. At first we wanted to have it at my parent's house, but with both sides of guests, it comes to 70 people and that won't fit. So my dad suggested doing a 3 hour cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvres at a place. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking to spend no more than $35-$40 per person. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. I'm going to post this on 08 and BHB, so forgive me if you see it everywhere. I'm trying to do this for February, so I want to start contacting places as soon as possible. TIA!!!

i think you can do a meal for that price, and your guests would probably be looking for one at a 3 hour party. try bulldog grille in amityville. they definitely have packages in that range, and have a really nice party room that can accomodate 70 people.

Are you looking in Nassau or Suffolk? I just used Villa Sorrento for my wedding and everything was fabulous. And the restaurant is beautiful. They're located in St. James in Suffolk County.

Thanks so much. Any suggestions will help!!! We are located mostly in Nassau, but I'll look in Suffolk as well. I'm really not looking to do a dinner. Just a cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvres and a carving station or two.
