Has anyone ever been to St. Thomas or St. John? I found 2 really good hotels (1 on each of the islands) and I know you can take a ferry to/from them bc they're so close, but which island would you actually stay on? TIA!

One of my BMs went to St. John last year and in 2006 and absolutely swears by one particular resort:

St. Thomas is apparently too crowded with tourists.

I have sailed through the US and British VI a few times.....I have only stayed in a hotel in St Thomas....I would suggest St John...not as commercialized and if you want you can go to the other islands for the day.

St. John! I love Canneel Bay too. I've been to both, but like the PPs said, St. Thomas is very touristy and built up. St. John is much more natural and quieter.
They are both amazing though....

I've been to St. Thomas and it's beautiful. As other girls said, St. John is a little quieter. They're just a short ferry ride away from each other. It's very nice and safe there. More importantly, it's BEAUTIFUL..Ahh, wish I was there
