Ok this may be a really really stupid question, but I'm supposed to be mailing my invites today, but I don't want to because of the rain. We had a calligrapher hand address the invites and I don't want the ink running!! Will they be ok? Should I wait a couple of days?? Please advise!!!!!

Re: XPOST: Sending out invites in the rain??
I think the ink might run if they get wet. I got an invite that was smudged due to rain!
I would wait...if you paid for hand calligraphy you don't want it to get ruined.

Can you put them in a bag and bring them directly to the post office? That way they won't get wet.

They are all in boxes ready to go to the PO, but I don't want them to get ruined when they are being delivered in the rain

But the thing is that the letters won't be delivered on the same day. If it's new york they usually take about a day (at least I think so..you can call and double check with the post office) . And the rain today wont effect the invites cuz they are just going from your box into another box. Delivery would be the potential problem.
If you don't want them to get wet when they are being delivered, maybe you should mail them out tomorrow so your guests can get them on Wednesday when it won't be raining.

If its not a big deal to wait a day...do it tomorrow. It won't be raining everywhere. And it is suppose to ease up or stop tomorrow.
