Hubby and I are seriously considering going there for our 1 year anniversary in October. What type of room did you get? I see that there are many different types (and prices)!
Also, any great restaurants nearby? Specifically, a *romantic* one??
Thanks!!

I'm not Erica but I can definitely give you some good advice! We go there every year. The MM is very nice, but also very pricey. October will be a perfect time of the year b/c it's not their peak, but still gorgeous out there. Depending on the cost, try and get a 1 bdrm suite - they have a loft area for the bdrm, and full kitchen and dining room.As far as restaurants go, there are a ton - what is your price range? Caswell's is the best IMHO, but also the pricest - Gosman's dock is always great, and has amazing views (very romantic!). Harvest on Fort Pond is also great, but very popular - can be romantic if you have a table overlooking the pond.

Re: Montauk Manor...
We didn't go for the loft room, we went for a one bedroom suite...rm 218 (seems many people go back to that room often - in the guestbook - which had me crying reading it)The restaurant that is within the MM is great...Italian, but I will agree with Teri on Gosmans...It was fabulous...very oceanside...
there are a ton of good restaurants by Montauk Harbor...
have a blast!!!

Thanks, Erica! It looks like we'll be in Montauk for our anniversary!
We'll probably book a deluxe studio to save. I don't think we need a dining room and kitchen in our room anyway...we're only going for 2 nights!
Thanks again!

Kathi, I just got back from Montauk today, you have to eat at Gosmans, it is great. I have never been to montauk manor, but my family has and they loved it! Very romantic choice..oh and if you love chocolate stop at 'fugde and stuff' it is SOOO yummy!

Kathi!! thats great!!you'll have a great time...we didn't use the kitchen at all...actually one night we slept on the pull out couch b/c we were having so much fun in our living room (we bought board games to play...and played them outside on the MM property)
also if you play tennis...bring sneakers and rackets (although you can rent rackets from them...we were sad that we didn't even bring sneakers...)
