YAY my first QOTD!!!!!!!!!

Ok ladies first I want to thank Ali (coldasice217) for making my BOTW!!!! I'm so excited adn I hope to wear the crown just as well as you did.

Ok here is my first question..................Does anyone feel like they are taking other peoples opinions too much into consideration and now you are starting to doubt decisions you have made in your planning?

Nope....not me. My mom & godmom help us in a lot of ways but they were never once pushy or tell us what to do. It's all FH & I decision.

For me my mom, MOH and one of my BMs are extremely opinionated women and they have no problem voicing their opinions on how I am planning my wedding. They think I still have so much time and dont need to be planning as much as I'm doing now meanwhile I want it done b/c I dont want to deal with everything in the last few months before the wedding.

Even when it comes down to buying my jewlery for the day of. I have listened to everyones comments and now I cant even pick which earings, hair comb or bracelet I want to wear on my wedding day. I love all of these women to death but sometimes opinions need to be kept to themselves. I want everyone to be happy but sometimes I lose myself in that everyone category. Hehe sorry this was a QOTD/vent for me

I don't feel that way about other people's opinions...I definitely march to the beat of my own drummer, and generally don't take other opinions in to consideration. I second guess personal choices, such as my dress, but in terms of someone saying my RH is too guido, that doesn't make me want to change it. That just makes me want to dress FH in a black shirt and white tie.

No I have been really great about staying true to my own vision. But that might be because my mom and I think a great deal alike and the only child factor helps a lot. The only decision made for me was really the band and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

YESSSSSS.... most of all Groomzilla! I mean I know it's his wedding too but he's been so picky about things!

But it's my own fault though since I'm super indecisive and sometimes need other ppls opinions.

I think in the beginning I was very defensive about making decisions, I was so afraid everyone was going to have something to say. Now, I kind of feel like the wedding is as much for us as it is for my parents, and FH's parents. I've started asking their opinions more often bc I want to make sure everyone is happy (me most of all!)

Congrats on being the BOTW!!!!

Nope... I FOUGHT HARD for everything I wanted. FH and I are paying for the wedding. So while I appreciate others opinions I know I don't have to use them. My Mom isn't a fan of my dress or the hair style I want but oh well. Its my wedding not hers. They have complete control over my bridal shower, which as a planner is hard for me to give up, so thats there thing.

sometimes......especially with this website! I feel like sometimes the girls on here make me second guess myself. Not in a bad way though. Im pretty impulsive so normally I would run out and book the first vendor I met. You ladies make me take a step back and think things through. Thanks

Yes, I get so excited about things and if others aren't as excited I get upset. My closest friends are all recently married so they know better than to offer advice, but my mom on the other hand

Thankfully I think I have a nice balance. Most of the people involved have been supportive. I tend to be very indecisive because I want to make sure I am making the best decision so sometimes I need other people's opinions.

Thankfully this hasn't happened to us yet...The one thing I kept asking people's opinion on is the bridesmaid colors-I knew immediately that I wanted the girls to each pic their own dress, so long as the fabric and color were the same. EVeryone is still so excited, but for a few months I kept emailing all my bm's and moh's a new favorite color for them to wear (I'm sure I posted them on here too each time it changed). It got to a point that one of my bm's said 'we will wear whatever you want, don't feel like you need to get our approval.' And after that I relaxed and stopped emailing everyone each time my color ideas changed. B/C it was enough for them to be able to choose their own dress, nobody cared about color. Now of course they are thrilled that its a dark silver and not some random crazy color.
So it was actually my dear friends who told me I didn't have to seek outside opinions. Yay for good friends!!

Sorta...but no really. I mean, I have people telling me that I'm doing too much and I don't need to do this or that...but for the most part I'm sticking to what I want to do...I mean, it's MY wedding AND I'm paying for it... LOL. Mostly I get some good ideas and I'll run with them...

YES!!!!!! Sometimes I wonder whose wedding is it at this point.. FH and I had a long talk about our plans last night though and I think we are on the same page. I have finally reached the point where the only opinions that matter are mine and FHs and I plan on ignoring anyone who tells us something different!
