yuppp! all the time. i try not to let it bother me. ppl don't get that weddings are expensive and they take a lot of time to plan.

surprisingly no- most people tell us they think it's perfect but that might be because it's in January

Nope, I think just about the only people who have a problem with it are my students at school... when I told my 8th graders they'd be in the 10th grade and out of the school when I got married I think they were upset because I think they thought they would get invited!

Yes all the time...they really dont understand pricing..and everything and getting what u want.. I'm not rich so clearly I cannot book when the prices are high

I got it all the time. by the time we get married we will be angaged just about 2 years.

But I dont let it bother me. I don't think they do it to be mean, most people just assume if you want to be married you are not going to want to wait that long (people just forget that it costs a lot of $) I also find its mostly oder people who would ask me that, and really I just think it is because its not what they are used to. When they got married I dont think people waited as long as people do now

ETA: I know that most people who did ask me this were people who knew how long FH and I were together and were excited for us and want to see us married and starting our life sooner because we are already together over 8 years

So i would turn around and ask them if they were gonna pay for it!!!

Also, if u think about it, 09 isnt that far away anymore, its only a year and a half and that is normal to plan a wedding in that amount of time. Also, if you know what you want, its better to act early!

yea i got that from a lot of people.. esp co-workers... it's like do u want to help me pay for the wedding?? plus i dont want to be crazy tryin to plan everything out in one year... i just dont need that stress...

I had one person tell me im making it for two years away because i dont 'really want to get married' and im trying to 'postpone it'...rigggghhttttt lol

when I was an 09er I got asked that and now that I'm a 10er I still get it. If people are sooo worried, why don't they just reach in their pocket and pay for it and stop asking.

I usually dont get the why's?? I get the WOW thats a long way from now.... or some stupid comment like that!

I get it all the time. I brush it off because I am tired of explaining that now we are both in school and even though FH will graduate in 2008, I will not be done with law school until 2009 so there is no rush. Besides, it takes time to plan a wedding. We just went to see our BM at JT and he told us that he is already booking for 10/10/2010 and that all of 2008 is already sold out.
