Ladies, Do you get a lot of people asking you why are you waiting until 09 to get married? I get that a lot and it irritates me!

some think it's great that we're waiting so that we can have a relaxing engagement and not stress too much over planning. Others are like 'wow that's a long ways away'. i just say it's not that far when u think of all the stuff that needs to be done.

I had one person tell me im making it for two years away because i dont 'really want to get married' and im trying to 'postpone it'...rigggghhttttt lol
i also got that one... that person told me that someone that wait more than 1 after they get engaged is b/c they dont want to get marry/

I find that any detail I give anyone on my wedding is followed by comments, so I have just learned to say 'oh, we are just enjoying being engaged right now, thanks.'

I still get people that give me looks when i tell them 2008...its like they cant fathom it. When we first booked wich was a year and a half, not that long, people would make fun all the time.
I really feel for you girls, cause its so hard hearing people question when u tell them what year

Seriously, I was just diagnosed with Stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma and I won't finish my chemotherapy and radiation until March 2008. So my answer is quite literally, 'I have to let my hair grow back in!!!!'

I think since we are still in the year of 07 people are thinking that way but when January 08 hits then I don't think people are going to think its so long anymore. Plus like someone mentioned in the post 08 is already booked!

Well i am glad i read this! I was getting so annoyed! everyone was like WOW thats so far away, or why are you waiting so long. I called the church to book the day and she was like '09....wow, i dont have any 09 brides yet thats a long time away hunny' i was like well its only a year and 9 months away and i want to make sure i have the day! Grr!!
