Yellowtail wine

Yellowtail wine

What's your take on it?

We are sticking with beer, wine and soda for our reception beverages, along with a champagne toast. What I decided, since we are on a very tight budget, is to NOT have a bartender, but have a self serve 'mini bar' with the soda and water, a couple of kegs of beer, and wine (Bottle of red, bottle of white... god I sound like a Billy Joel song..lol!) on the tables.

A few people have recommended Yellowtail. I know nothing about wine. Is this a good one that isn't too expensive, or can someone recommend another one?

Also, where is the cheapest place to get wine wholesale in the Riverhead/ Hamptons area?

TIA!

I've heard good things about it but I've never tried it. Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

what about good old Pindar?

Very good wine, very good prices, and fits your LI/Summer feel

I like Pindar much better than Yellowtail

My restaurant just started serving yellowtail about 5 months ago and people love it. I can't remember the price though compared to others.

Re: Yellowtail wine

just a thought. . . I happen to love wine and one of my favorite inexpensive wines is a kind by Pindar. For every Thanksgiving we serve Pindar's Autumn Gold (people love it) and we just took Pindar's Spring Splendor to FH's brother's for Easter--everyone loved it. They also have a Winter something and a Summer Blush which are very good. The spring and summer ones are a kind of rose i guess and the other two are white wines. The Summer Blush would be neat since your wedding is in August. . . and it's a great LI wine (where we all live) . . . I don't know if it's obvious or not, but I'm big on themes . . . and they are very reasonably priced, at least where I live (Copiague) They are $6.99 a bottle (cheaper than yellowtail. . .which is also yummy) and I'm sure you'd get a better deal by purchasing it by the case which is 12 I believe. I hope this helps. . . Good Luck!!

Thank you all... I might take a ride out to Pindar, I don't live far from there at all, and see what they got... maybe do a little wine tasting myself... Thanks again!

Shop around a bit before you purchase from the winery though. . . My FH and I go wine tasting every fall and inevitably end up spending more at the winery (very easy after you've had a couple free tastings ) than we spend in our local wine store. Sometimes it is as much as a dollar or two per bottle. . . bizarre because you'd expect it to be cheaper where they make it
