Yes, another. . .

Yes, another. . .

tipping question (Sorry!) We have a little bit of a 'different' situation with some of our vendors, so I have no idea how to handle the tip. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Our photog is a professional wedding photogroapher - its his own business. He also happens to be pretty good friends with FH and thats why we went with him (plus I really did like his work). But, if he wasn't our photog, he probably wouldn't be on the guest list. So, how much would you tip him (he gave us a great deal for our pics and is also doing our e-pics).

Our officiant is a very good friend of FH's and also happens to be a judge. He would definitely have been inivited even if he wasn't also marrying us (his wife and daughter will also be there). (He's not charging us at all)

Our band: Both FH and I knew guys from the band before we met each other. I knew all of them through mutual friends and FH knew one of them. Not to really socialize together, but enough that we always chatted when we would see them. They also gave us a great price.

I am so lost when it comes to how much or even if to tip these vendors. I don't want to insult anyone by tipping or not tipping them, but it seems like either way might be insulting. HELP!!!

TIA!!!

Photographer: i'd probably give about $200, depending how good of a deal he gave you on the package

Officiant: i would give a gift like a bottle of wine or something ... def not money.

Band: not sure ... would you invite these people as 'regular' guests if they weren't in the band?

Thanks. No, the band members wouldn't have been invited as regular guests. And yes, for our officiant, we were planning on a really nice bottle of wine or something - I think giving him a $$ tip would definitley be weird. Just wasn't sure if the wine would be enough.

is the band giving you a discount of any sorts?

if yes, then give them $50 per person
if no, then give them $25-35 per person (normal amount)

i think a bottle of wine to the officiant is really nice ... he won't be expecting anything - he's doing it out of the kidness of his heart anyhow, not for money / a gift

Yes, the band gave us a great price also - probably about a 50% discount.
