Yesterday's Projects with pics!!! ETA directions for wands

So yesterday I had a troop of people at my house to knock out some DIY projects and stuff invites.

We completed the invites in about 3 hours and the ribbon wands and wine bottles in another hour or so.

The invites werent too bad except for the stupid bows which took FOREVER. Thankfully FMIL had the bow tying job and she did a pretty good job. After a while I just didnt care anymore.

SOOO here are some pics

They were so easy. We got packages of 20 dowels from micahels and we made 60 of them.

The dowels were spray painted off white. We stuck them in styrofoam so we could get all sides of the dowels.

Then I picked up a package of SMALL metal shelf caps. They are found in the aisle of home depot that sells those white wire metal shelves and they are actually for the ends of the wire that sticks out on the racks.

Then we bought lots of ribbon. I did off white, gold and red. We cut the ribbon into 33 inch strips (about ...it doesnt have to be exact) the we folded two off whites, one red and one gold in half and bent the top over the dowel and put the cap on. At first we were going to use hot glue also but we found that with all the ribbon the caps stayed on fine without the hot glue.

Another hint

We cut a piece of card board to 33 inches and just wrapped the ribbon around until the spool was out and then cut the top and bottom
