Part 1

Even with relationships that just kind of ended.. with no animosity etc.. they just 'ended'.. I have never stayed friends with an ex. Just never felt the need to. I remember one time an ex ended the relationship suddenly.. completely out of the blue.. she asked if she could call me right after she said things were over.. and I just looked at her and said.. 'Why?' She never called. (I'm just like that.)

Part 2

Never. Too many things that could potentially complicate things. All that is so NOT needed. JMO

I agree no to both!

Once when i was out at some bar i ran into friends of an ex. They wanted to keep in contact...I thought was even too close for comfort.

My ex who totally broke my heart is my dentist (we dated and he was a dentist, he wasn't my dentist first).

Now both FH & I go to him.

I actually do have one sort of 'ex' who I still talk to.. he is one of my best friends, and we dated (years ago) for all the wrong reasons (we were lonely and bored)

We only dated a month before realizing we had no chemistry and were much better as buddies. Since then we have been amazing friends (I tend to have a lot more 'guy' friends than 'girl' friends anyhow) and I am SO GLAD we stopped dating all those years back and just embraced a wonderful friendship!

As for REAL 'Ex-boyfriends' .. NO WAY do I keep in touch with them. Unfortunately most of my past relationships ended badly , and there is no reason to continue communication (IMO)....

As I always say ... 'they're called EX'S for a reason!!...'

I am still 'friends' with 2 ex from almost 10 years ago. DH knows both of them and likes them both very much! We did not break up for bad reason, we simply just grew apart in both cases.

I do not talk to them regularly though. But I have attended, with DH, one of their weddings and the other DH and I have had dinner and drinks with on a few occassions. All 3 (DH and the 2 exs) have a lot in common so it makes it easier for them to have something to talk about.

I think it depends on the ex, and the situation. I am friends with my ex from HS. Stupid puppy love from 16 years ago. I wouldn't be friends with any of my more recent ex's though. It's too close, if that makes sense.
