Yet another ebay problem

Yet another ebay problem

I have someone complaining and threatening to file a fraud case with paypal and ebay against me because they havent received their item yet.

I clearly state in my auctions I only ship on Satudays. This person paid me on a Sunday.

So they had to wait a week for me to even ship.

I also state that once the item leaves my hands I am not respsonsible for the item and highly suggest putting insurance on the item. This person did not pay for insurance.

I keep telling them they need to take this up with the postal service as I am not responsible for this.

So they just keep emailing me that I am a fraud and a liar and they want their money back. I told them again its been shipped and they need to contact the postal service.

And again they keep blaming me when its not. I state very clearly in my auctions that I ship only on saturdays and without insurance I am not responsible for the item once it left my hands.

But they dont want to hear that and tell my actions are unacceptable..

OMG what do they want me to do, hand deliver it to them???

Re: Yet another ebay problem

I am so aggrivated with this person

This is the latest from them to me:

If it doesn't arrive.
I'll take it up with Ebay and paypal.com.
Then leave negative feedback on top of the one you just received as I agree with the person who left you that negative feedback.
Thanks for nothing.

What the HELL does this person want me to do.

I have proof it was mailed, its not my f-ing fault the post office screwed up. They need to contact the post office not me and I have said it a million times to the person.

oh but its my fault because I shipped it. Please, it clearly states in my auctions I am not respsonsible for item once it leaves my hands and insurance is highly suggested. most people usually do the insurance, its not my fault this person didnt insure the item and its lost.

UH!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. You are having such a bad time with Ebay lately Did you mail the item this past Sat (5/24)? If so, they should wait a few days for them to receive it.

I don't think they can file a fraud report since your auction clearly states your shipping terms but they may leave a negative FB which is unwarranted. Which really sux!

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Thanks

I shipped on May 17th. The package is going to AZ and for some reason its held up in Denver. I dont know why.

I also emailed Ebay asking them the best way to resolve this matter.

Thanks, FI said the same thing since it was clearly stated in my auction then its not fraud.

Some people are just bad ebayers. Some people dont know how to read. As long as you have given them the tracking number they should shut up and deal with USPS. Sorry you have to go through this.

Have you left responses under the negative feedback people have left for you explaining your side of the story???

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Did you sent it by the post office regular mail or UPS or Fedex?

We ebay alot and We'll only send items and recieve items if it is UPS or Fedex. It's easier to track and to prove it was sent or delivered.

Good luck and I hope it all gets cleared up!!!

Re: Yet another ebay problem

You should NOW instist on insurance for all shipments. Contact paypal and ebay asap and tell them what is going on BEFORE the buyer does.

Yuck! What a headache!! I dont think they will have any fraud case against you though with ebay. Ebay tries to stay out of stuff until they absolutely can't, as I'm sure you know so I'd be shocked if you're a seller with a good rep that they'll get involved.

Going forward, you can add another $0.35 to whatever you are charging your buyers for shipping and get the delivery confirmation at their cost. This way you have some proof that it was received. Otherwise the insurance is up to them.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

I totally know! I had this guy buy something, then, as soon as he paid he wrote to me asking if he could not get the priority shipping to save money(I always ship priority to avoid this crap). I didn't get back to him fast enough I guess (It'd been less than a day!) so we went ahead and paid and just 'estimated' the shipping, then demanded I ship it right away and demanded I leave positive feedback for him for paying so fast (which I didn't b/c I don't do that until the sale is over and receipt of the item has been confirmed).

I always post that with priority shipping it will still be 7-10 business days depending on when I ship (if someone e-mails and nicely requests it sooner I'll usually do it). So, I went the next week, like I usually do, and I sent it-regular mail as he demanded. 11 days after the sale he was demanding his money back! Oh, and he opted not to have insurance which I offer.

I just ignored him and he went away-and he got his stuff.

What a loser!

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Thanks girls.

That person gave me such a headache.

Yes I have left a response under that negative feedback explaining my side. I have over 70 positives and that one negative so I dont think one negative will hurt my rep too much. Everyone has all said the same thing 'great communication, great and friendly emails, always albe to contact' Reading those make me feel good and actually enjoyable to sell on ebay.

I have been sending everything via USPS priority mail.

Thanks I think I am going to start insisting they pay for insurance. I think in the end its definatly worth it for me and for them.

I have also contacted ebay and informed them of the situation. I know ebay tries to stay out of it unless they really have to (and I know they are very good about it to. I had a problem with a seller and the seller filed a Non paying bidder thing on me and i contacted ebay and showed them how I did pay and it was actually the sellers fault because they provided me with the wrong information and ebay cleared that whole thing up and nothing went against me so I do trust them in that matter)

I feel bad for the person and I can understand their fustration, but I wish they would just read I am not responsible once it leaves my hands. Yea I could understand if I broke the item or I lost it and never notified them, but I did everything I could possibly do. I sometimes even do more (I try and keep the lines of communication very open. Once the item leaves my hands I email them to let them know the time and date that I sent the item, when they should be expecting it and then the day they are expecting it I email them reminding them that it should be arriving and then about 2 weeks later I email them again so make sure they are happy with the product. I know I dont have to, but I want to keep a good rep on ebay)

This person just aggrivated me so much

sorry for the bable.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Thanks July. Why does ebay allow such losers???

This person that is giving me the headache wants his money back?? WHAT I dont think so. The item is shiped. the only way I would give back money is the item was completely destroyed when they received it, but I know this item isnt destroyed its books. So he gets no money back from me.

Its always one or 2 that really ruin it for others.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

I'll never understand why anyone would buy anything on Ebay and not pay the extra few dollars for insurance and tracking.
Saves a lot of aggravation for both parties.

Don't worry about it. 1 negative feedback is nothing. This buyer just sounds like she's taking her frustration out on you.

*you should get a refund from the post office for shipping. I mailed something out Priority Mail once and it took 5 days instead of the guaranteed 2-3 days. They gave me my $ back*

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Thanks susans, I'll definatly have to look into that for the person. (maybe it would save them some fustration)

I agree its definatly worth the few extra dollars for the insurance.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

I've been emailing everyone all day asking them to please keep me informed if they have received their items.

I am starting to worry about everyone elses stuff even though I have delivery confirmation.

So far everyone has been really nice and has either received the item or has agreed to let me know if they dont recieve it in a few days and appreciated my email.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Did you respond to the negative feedback so that your reply is seen if someone looks at your feedback. If not, you should. Although ppl can tell you have a good rep from your other feedback, it's a good tool to be able to defend yourself against the negative comment so future buyers can see it.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

yes I have replied to the negative feedback. I even posted negative on that person and since that person had no feedback I am sure future people will see 1 negative and 70+ positives and realize I am a good honest person.

It just really upset me to see 1 negative. But 1 person out of 70+ has got to be wrong and a disgruntled person.

Re: Yet another ebay problem

Chippa did you put a resonse in your complaint when people view your feedback? Your good/bad ratio will not stop people from bidding. I would still bid on one of your autions.

I also sell on e bay a lot and never offer insurance. Only if the people want it. I have stated in the description: All sales final. I think you did everything right. Some people just don't how to ebay. I was once waited a month for an item I had purchased.
