I just spoke with my RH and they said i don't get the 'real' menu items (salad / appetiser / meal) ... that the tasting only includes the 'stuff' from the cocktail hour (the food from the captained stations and the hours douvers)
i was kind of annoyed because we were sooo looking forward to the tasting (with all of our food!)
did you get to eat ALL of the food on the menu or just CH 'stuff' too?

Re: yet another food tasting question
thanks for your answers ...
i xposted this on the 2010 boards as well and 3 girls (so far) have responded that they DID have full tasting (entres too)
but for you gals who didn't, how did you know what to choose? did you choose something and then regret it when you actually tasted it at your wedding?

I didn't really have to choose at my RH. There were (4) choices-meat, chicken, fish & vegitarian. There were two other choices that we could've added as upgrades... but we didn't.

some people who responded on the 2010 xpost of this thread said they tasted everything ... i guess i assumed it was standard.
i'm a bit disappointed but what can i do.

Re: yet another food tasting question
i know this is horrible but I think Higher end packages and halls are the one that offer a full entree tasting. So basically the more you spend the more perks you get.

Re: yet another food tasting question
We got to do a full tasting which consisted of some of the CH food, 2 first course options, 3 entree options, and dessert. It was a set menu though, and we could only taste what hey had picked for the menu that night.

Re: yet another food tasting question
I had a FULL sit down tasting. They even gave us wine & champagne. They set up a beautiful table for the two of us - pink tablecloths, candles lit and everything - we tried all of our food the cocktail hr and our dinner choices.

Re: yet another food tasting question
I am pretty sure most places will only do tastings of the cocktail food (this has been my experience at least).

Re: yet another food tasting question
East Wind doesn't do a food tasting at all. Your only option is to go to a showcase where you're able to taste some of the cocktail hour food but there's nothing formal about it. I was really disappointed to find that out, so I don't blame you for being upset.
