yet another food tasting question (xpost)

accidentally posted this on BHB ... so i'm xposting it here:

I just spoke with my RH and they said i don't get the 'real' menu items (salad / appetiser / meal) ... that the tasting only includes the 'stuff' from the cocktail hour (the food from the captained stations and the hours douvers)

i was kind of annoyed because we were sooo looking forward to the tasting (with all of our food!)

did you get to eat ALL of the food on the menu or just CH 'stuff' too?

we were able to taste all five main entrees as well as cocktail hour food-- I would just ask if they could do that for you-- we went while a wedding was going on and stayed in one of the two suites.

i did ... she said she'll 'do her best to get more things to taste' but that she couldn't make any promises.

We got everything on our menu - and in cases where we could choose, like between the porterhouse and filet, we got both to decide. There were 6 of us at our tasting and we had 7 entrees served. We only got one salad to try and some of the CH spread.

We actually didn't get to eat the CH food, which succcked cause I would have liked to try that!

We got 1st course (fresh mozz/peppers/tomatoes), salad, and family style dinner. There was a lot of options from the dinner menu and it was delicious. We brought a lot home too because it was so much food. Then they gave cookies and chocolate fountain.

We had a plate of appetizers to share, a plate of entrees to share for all of us and then dessert for each of us.

I know what you mean, I'm pretty annoyed by this as well. I don't see why it's so difficult to give us a taste of the actual entree. I was looking at the menu with FH and we're kind of torn on what to pick since we're not sure which of each category would taste best. (neither of us eat seafood, but our family does).

Btw, did they give you a hard time about doing the tasting since it was the same food as their showcase? My BM made it seem like it's an annoyance that I want to come back and do another tasting with my parents. His reasoning was because he's busy this month giving tastings to people who were not at the show in Feb. Um, I didn't even know at the time that the showcase was the official tasting, and so I didn't bother eating everything since it was so crowded

Yea...kinda ridiculous. The menu choices were a bit misleading. We made our selections, went to the final meeting and she switched it up on us. You pick one beef, one chicken, one fish. Then they gave us shrimp scampi and a vegetarian option. All of if was delish...no issues at all. But still should offer a full menu tasting in an environment where you can enjoy it and take notes.
