yet another votive candle placecard question

yet another votive candle placecard question

I was thinking of doing votives, but then I realized i'm going to have at least 1 if not 2 kids tables. Some of these tables will have kids ranging from 3-6. I don't think they'll be able to deal with carrying a votive candle by themselves. How do I work that?

Maybe you can have them carry a votive candle that isn't lit then maybe have them light the candle at the table?? I hope that helps... just a suggestion. I really like the idea !!

I'm doing them as well but for the kids I will not be using the votive placecards. Instead, I will be getting each kid a disposable camera. That, wrapped in a ribbon with the kid's name and table number, will be their place card.

since its in the class and with vellum paper, these don't get hot when the guest pick them up, right?

nope I tested them. but the thicker the glass the better.
Also freeze the tealights for a few days before you bring them to the hall... they will last/burn longer.

Great idea, and also, trim all of the wicks down to 1/4 inch so the flame doesn't burn too high, it will also keep them burning longer.

I bought the vellum paper at paperandmore.com and the votive candle holders at Michael's (3 for $1). They go on sale once and in awhile, just watch our for it.

I have a question. Will the candles be hot when the guests pick them up to bring them to their tables?

Use tealight candles that has a rim around the candle itself. Tell your maitre' d to light it just before the guests start going in to the reception dinner. Probably about 10-15 mins. Use the idea that the girls posted here in the board.

Sorry should have read more. What other stores besides Michaels can I get the holders from? Is there a website that has the thicker glass for a cheaper price?
