Hey ladies
I am trying to plan a trip for my husband's birthday. Its March 2nd. A friend of mine just suggested the poconos but she has not actually been there. I have a few questions?

Is the place worth the money? I am getting quotes about $300 a night. Or should I take the money and do something more worth it.

Also which resort did some of you ladies stay. I see they have four. I see one is more for family but I don't much see the difference between the other three.

Edit to add I got a package for $848 at Niagara Falls staying at the Sheraton on the water with a rental car?

I am wondering is it too cold up there right now?

The reason I think it's worth it is exactly what ShellMarie said. I don't know anywhere but the Poconos, I get my own suite, w/a heart shaped jacuzzi AND a pool, it's soooo romantic. Plus fireplace, a couple TVs, living room, etc. . . It's GREAT
We've been twice and will go again. Like I said you save a bit of money if you go Mon-thurs. And it's so convenient, only a 2 hour drive away

I've also been there twice, and stayed in Champagne Towers...totally cheesy, but cheesy GOOD!! WE LOVED IT!!!! The Indoor Pool Is by far the most awesome! The Arcade center is also great in the main building.

Everyone should go at least once, for the experience.

I would totally go again!

Its about five hours for us but that hotel hershey is
about two hours.

I would love the chocolate spa but I think my husband may frown on that one.

I was interested in this too, actually I heard a lot about it here. The only thing is...are the rooms nice? I looked online and they seemed a little dated??

february bride, I wouldn't say dated at all for the rooms. Both times we went, everything looked pretty new. Excellent condition.

The game room, ice skating rinks, etc probably don't look brand new, but the rooms were great

How about niagara falls

The stay is at Sheraton on the Falls with air and a rental car for total everything is $ 848.09

What do you ladies think? Is it soo cold?

Talk about outdated was when we stayed at the mount airy lodge OMG CHEESY but we still had fun& i would love to explore the poconos more i believe mount airy is shut down

I would definitely save Niagara Falls for warmer weather so that you can enjoy the gardens and the walking tours near/around/under the falls.

Also the mist off of the falls would probably make it even colder!

Can't help you with the Poconos...sorry.

Do you get or anyone else get Travelzoo emails each week? They post mostly last minute travel deals, and if you're looking to travel 3/2 that's sort of short notice and may be able to get a good vacation package...? I'm sorry I didn't save this weeks email and I don't know the web page. Maybe someone knows it??

Brrrrr, soooo cold for Niagra Falls in March.
Especially the way it's been lately.
I would save Niagra for late spring or early summer. It will be so beautiful then

Niagra Falls is way too cold. And the drive is a b**** if you do it this way.

Why not Montauk or Mystic-Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun area?
I would still say Poconos though

Me and my FH go there once a year, that is were he proposed. We always go to the Paradise one. We love there and their are ALOT of honeymooners. I think it is worth the money you get breakfast in bed every morning and dinner is also included. Thier is plenty to do during the day and they have something different to do every night in the club, you have to see the 'Not so new newlywed game' it is the funniest thing we have seen .

Ceasars Pocono Resorts are definately worth it!

Paradise Stream is the one I go to & WE LOVE IT! Cove Haven is a little too big for me. Paradise Stream is smaller & more intimate if you ask me. I've been going there for years! FM me if you want a 10% off coupon.

my fiance and i go to the ceasars pocono resorts every year- sometimes twice a year. we love it there. it can be cheesy but there is so much to do for the money. in fact- that is where he asked me to marry him!! you would have a blast there

i went to one of those in the poconos though i can't remember the name. it's the one that is furthest south and near shawnee mt. i thought it was a great weekend. we went snowmobiling and did other stuff on the property, but we also took a day to go skiing which wasn't all that expensive. we had a great time and i'd consider going back, but maybe in spring or summer this time.

i've also been to niagara falls and we went in jan. yes, it's freezing ass cold there but it's really cool to see the falls with all the ice and stuff. but there's not as much to do there as in the poconos, imo. both are great trips and worth the money, but the drive to niagara can be hell. i forget where we stayed but it wasn't the sheraton. oh and if you go there have dinner at the revolving restaurant, so cool!

We got engaged there! We went for a few years in a row.. can't afford it now! We've always stayed at Pocono Palace.. really great area, lots of shopping nearby...lots to do! Shawnee mountain for snow-tubing, skiing.. the champagne and roman towers (2 most expensive rooms) are not worth it!! IF you go, stay in the garden of eden apple room... IT'S THE BEST! Much better than the more expensive rooms. IT is a lot of money but it's a lot of fun... if you drink it's even better! :) We had an even better time when we went with other couples because at dinner time we sat together and after dinner for dancing, etc.. it was so much fun! If you have any questions or need coupons... just forum mail me!

Paradise Stream is awesome. We go once and sometimes even twice a year. We are supposed to go back in July hopefully. We have stayed in the Garden of Eden Apple, Champagne Towers and the Lakeside Villa. They are all great!!!! Can't wait to go again!
