you have to read this poem..

you have to read this poem..

ok i found this the other day and almost cried.. i definitely want to give it to my parents. would you put it in a frame or something? how would i present it? i kinda wanna sneak it to them, i dont want them to read it in front of me.

POEMS FOR PARENTS
For my parents:
Mom & Dad –

Tomorrow is the day, I've dreamed of all my life.
I will then be marrying, becoming XXXXXX’s wife.
I wanted to tell you how special, you two are to me.
You have made me what I am, and am ready to be.

Tonight I will sleep, with dreams of bygone days,
My loving, carefree childhood, and of my childish ways.
Then I will awake, with dreams of things to come,
What my life will be, and who I will become.

With the morning I will have, emotions flowing free,
I just wanted you to know, I'll need you there with me
Your strength and love will guide me, as I become the bride,
As I start this precious journey, I need you by my side.

As I stand with Dad, at the beginning of the aisle
Please look at me dear Mom; I'll need to see your smile.
Your smile and Dad's arm will help to steady me,
As I take this blessed step, for God and all to see.

I'll always be your daughter, and your love I'll always need,
Though we are starting a new chapter, planting a new seed.
XXXXXX is my love, my life, my everything to me,
And he will be beside me, as we tackle what will be.

So on the eve of my wedding day, I say these words to you,
Hoping that you realize, you're in everything I do.

It's BEAUTIFUL!!!

Do you still live with your parents? What if you printed it on pretty paper and stuck it to the fridge before you went to sleep the night before your big day?

If you put it in a frame, how would you present it to them?

I'd stick it somewhere where they'll see it, but won't expect it there...

Does that make sense??? I hope so!

OMG - ALMOST cried?? I am hysterical here! Where did you find that? It's beautiful! I like the idea of putting it in a frame. Maybe you could wrap it up and leave it for them to find somehow that evening?

Oh my that is beautiful!! I was in tears reading the words. Maybe you can give them the poem with a picture of the family or something.

Oooh I like the family pic idea, what if you printed the poem on vellum paper and have a pic of the three of you when you were a little girl behind it tied on top with a ribbon, sort of how they do the invites with vellum?

awww reading your guys' ideas are making me cry! yes i do live with my parents and i'm moving all the way across teh country after the wedding so itll really mean something!

i really like the idea of having a picture with it. maybe i could do something like that with the vellum idea or put it in a frame .. leave it outside their bedroom so they see it in the morning?

Wow then it's REALLY emotional for you!

I wouldn't give it to them in the morning, ONLY because it says tomorrow in it... what if you put it on their bed so they see it before they go to sleep?

Lauren: I thought of the same idea that you mentioned about the vellum and the picture. I was thinking of printing on really nice vellum paper, attached the picture, change the words a little and present it to them at the rehersael dinner and do the same for FILs too.

Okay, i only have 13 days left. you can't do this to me!! i am balling my eyes out here!!!!!

i am definitely giving this to my parents. not sure how, i will think about that after I stop crying! thanks for sharing!!!
