this should be renamed 'you know you're white and from queens.....'
true, it is all about the few neighborhoods that usually if you're from one of those you hang out at the others and know ppl from the other neighborhoods...like people from astoria, whitestone, howard beach all run within the same circles and its definitely 6 degrees of separation
true, but other statements can be viewed as somewhat racist - sorry JMO
yeah when i read it, i thought a few of the comments were a bit racist, ive noticed that alot with 'you know you're from...' jokes.

OK if anyone is offended by SPECIFIC comments then ill delete just those...i didnt write it, i copied it and yes sorry to say i skimmed over most of them and went straight to the ones i knew about such as astoria and things like that. Personally i am a person who doesn't get offended easily...I watch black comedians ALLLLLL the time who crack jokes on white ppl and i just laugh and im sure most of you have too, and people sit here talking about how much they love lisa lampenelli(ive seen her being brought up many times on the boards) and nobody complained about how anyone can like her bc of the racist or crazy things she said.
So if theres a specific one you want off then let me know and i'll edit the post.

i just don't think people should be offended by any of it. same way long island people are not offended by all those LI stereotypes in the other post.
we know you didn't write it - and those of us who grew up there know what's real and not real. It's just for fun.

I just found the whole ‘Hindu family’ comment (number 1) off-putting…maybe because when I was growing up I totally wanted to be Indian, because all my best friends were and they had the best parties. The comment just seemed racist to me--but I know you didn't write it, so no harm, no foul! JMO

Re: You know you're from queens if...
I have seen numerous emails like this about puerto ricans (theyre hilarious) but I wouldnt go so far as to say racist. I could have been offended but I couldnt cause most of what they say are TRUE!
I could undertsand the first one being offensive by saying the neighborhood goes 'downhill'. They could have worded that one better. But I can remember people saying things like that when I was growing up.
