Is it fine if you just bring your driver's license or passport? You don't need your birth certificate, right? They only ask for one??

It depends on the office; some require 1 form of ID, others require your birth certificate as well.

you will need your birth certificate. don't worry if you lost it you can order it online and have within 3 days

Make sure you have a money order made out to the City Clerk of New York. The NYC office only accepts money orders.

The Hempstead office you only need 1 id unless it's your 2nd marriage.

It all depends on the location, we went to the court house in Staten Island and only needed 1 form of ID (Drivers License).
