YOU pick the color THEY pick the dress

did any1 just pick a bridesmaid dress color then allowed the girls to get any dress in that color..how did this work and does any one have pics of these 'mismatched' results

I did that with my sister (MOH). I told her that the dress had to be green but she was allowed to pick out any dress she wanted for her and the BMs.

ummmm. i picked the color and went with one BM and she actually picked out the two that i loved.. then i went with another and she picked the same two... same happened with the 3rd

i am going tomorrow with my MOH....
i really think that we have found the dress and if the other BM doesn't agree than tough she should have came and looked

you can really do it how you want.. depends what you like or if you wnat a specific dress

I took my MOH and BMs (6 in total) dress shopping and I told them the dress would be in dark red and I had no problem with them picking the dress, as long as they all agreed on one. They all went and picked dresses they like and 3 of them tried each one on and we had a mini fashion show. As it turned out, everyone loved the same dress. FSIL has picked it out, she was my prize BM that day!

I picked out the color, then was going to ahve them buy the dress, but i found good dresses on sale at various places so i bought those...
my 2 bm's and flower girl have the same shade of a claret red? and my moh is slighlty off in the sun with the red but a little more lighter...

i did that but i have 8 bridesmaids some that are big and some that are small and 2 jrs
4 of them are in 1 dress , 3 of them in another moh in her own and jrs in another
i wanted them all to like what they are wearing

I did that... I have no idea what they are wearing yet... one of them has a dress, the other 3 haven't even shopped yet..

I picked the color and then showed each girl what I loved for them, and they loved what I picked out for them.....so they are all wearing the same color, but different...one girl is wearing palazzos (but looks like a chiffon skirt) and another has a halther dress, and the other a chiffon dress, I am excited and they are thrilled!

A lot of brides have done that and I think the dress designers are catering to this situation since not every dress is going to flatter every woman.

I think it looks nice in pictures and I am sure the BM's are more comfortable in the gowns.

i was toying with this option because i wanted each girl to like her dress and want to wear it again, however in the end i decided to pick the style because my taste is more conservative and i wanted the necklines to match. i picked a style that is flattering for all shaped and sizes, all BM's (i have only only 3) approved…

I went to a wedding where this was done....8 BM and 1 JrBM. Everyone wore red and each dress was completely different. I thought it looked beautiful. It totally reflected the bride's and groom's personalities.

i did and i think it was the best decision, I had no stress whatsoever picking out a bm dress and trying to please them, and they are all very excited about wearing their dresses. Every single girl has a totally different dress, but the color and fabric is exactly the same, i love the look

I did it!! My girls were VERY happy....I don't have a pic of all of them together yet...but here is a pic of my friends' wedding that I was a BM in...

she did it too since all the BM lived all over the country....she did chocolate brown...

I went with my girls and we decidedon a color together, and a designer, and then they picked a dress from the same designer.

I think they chose well, these are the two dresses they chose:


Both in Euro red (the color of the first dress)

I chose the color and picked out about 12 dresses, We all decided which one to go with..

I did that as well. I have 5 girls in my BP. they eached picked out a Bill Levkoff, euro red, satin dress. I have 3 girls in strapless, and 2 with straps.

I didn't do that. But only because I have 2 BMs. The three of us went out together and found a dress that we all love.

I think that different dresses in the same color look nice and they allow the BMs to wear something the flatters them. I just think it works better on a larger BP (larger than 2 that is ).

I'm planning on doing this, but haven't done it yet so I can't speak on how it looks. I've seen some pics though and they seem cute! I want my girls to be comfy and maybe even be able to wear the dress again. We're going with tea-length. :o)
