you will all probably think this is crazy....

because I kinda to too, but I can't think of anything else. I want to get my FH a gift for our wedding day. I can't get him a nice watch because he has 2 that his father left to him, and I would never replace something so sentimental to him. He also is the kinda guy that if he wants something (which is rare) he'll go buy it for himself. He does love Johnnie Walker scotch though and I found this

Johnnie Walker Blue Lable 200th Anniversary...they were made in limited edition and they sell between $3600 to 4000 and are in a bacarat crystal decanter. Its something I actually think he would love and I could imagine him drinking a glass for special occasions....i know its crazy though that much for liquor!!

I dont think so!

I think its actually a really elegant gift! It's not like you're giving him jack daniels!!! Thats a great gift, and he can have a glass on verrrrrry special occassions.

(There's a bar here that sells blue label for $100/shot.)

One question though....

Would your FH appreciate it (and by 'it' I mean would he know what baccarat crystal IS')?

I know my FH would think that JWB was an awesome gift, but wouldn't 'get it' that the crystal is the more valuable part!!

Yeah he knows what baccarat is.....His mom and sister trained him well!!! I am also going to get these baccarat tumblers for him to go with it. I know he loves those tumblers b/c he always asks his mom if he can have her bacarat ones!

i think its a wonderful gift idea. it will especially be meaningful to FH that u knew what he would like and didn't go with the common gift of jewelry (not that theres anything wrong with it) go for it!

i started drooling when I saw the pic.
I think that's a great elegant gift. and if is a fan of the liquor it'll mean that much more to him.

I could never afford a gift that expensive, but there are plenty of girls on here who are getting necklaces or jewelry from their hunnie as their wedding gift and i'm sure some of it costs the same or more than that bottle.

you love him, go ahead and spoil him. the only thing i'd say... is be sure you can afford it, b/c if you can't, there are plenty of other things out there that i'm sure he'd love.

My DH's birthday is coming up next month and he is drooling over a bottle of Louis the XIII remy martin cognac and your post just inspired me to give it to him for his birthday, i had NO idea what to get him until i saw this post, i was like DUH...lol i know this will be something he'll cherish and drink on special occassions! Wow! I had gotten my dad a Blue Label when we had gone to the caribbean (it was like 1/2 off) but he's been a loyal fan of JW since I can remember. He will definatly love it and it'll probably last him a while too lol

Its actually not that crazy. I never even heard of Johnny Walker Blue before I knew FH. He is really into it , but I think he would kill me of I bought it for him.

I think if he's into JW then yea go for it.

The only thing that came to mind was that its not memorable.....once its used its gone..if you get him something like jewlery or soemthing else he will always have it forever.

i like the idea but i agree with this. $4000 could be used for alot more than alcohol, I mean maybe get him a plasma, even a trip or think of his hobbies...For example if he likes planes, he can do this 1 day program and learn that day and get to fly fighter plane. Or if hes into cars they have a nascar thing, its these experience type gifts. Theres other things besides a watch to get a guy. My FH is a HUGE scotch fan, drinks it all the time knows all about them but i know for $4000 he would want something else. My dad is into all this and he does like buying these things and i see what happens with what he has. Ppl come over and of course they wanna try it and its gonna right away

Again just my opinion bc its your money and think you can give a gift that is longer lasting. If he likes things that are rare how about memorabilia, is he into sports? get him a signed jersey, a signed bat or something like that.
