because I kinda to too, but I can't think of anything else. I want to get my FH a gift for our wedding day. I can't get him a nice watch because he has 2 that his father left to him, and I would never replace something so sentimental to him. He also is the kinda guy that if he wants something (which is rare) he'll go buy it for himself. He does love Johnnie Walker scotch though and I found this
Johnnie Walker Blue Lable 200th Anniversary...they were made in limited edition and they sell between $3600 to 4000 and are in a bacarat crystal decanter. Its something I actually think he would love and I could imagine him drinking a glass for special occasions....i know its crazy though that much for liquor!!

FH's dad got that as a gift and he was AMAZED and LOVED it - he is an avid scotch drinker so to him it was the most amazing gift ever......if he is anything like my FFIL he'll LOVE it!!
I wanted to get FH a Breitling watch as an engagement gift - so I started saving b/c we started talking about getting engaged (and we had this joke that when I got my ring I'd have to get him a Breitling - FH is a huge watch lover so I would tease him all the time about it) - then he shocked the sh!t out of me and proposed when I didn't expect it at all - and of course I couldn't afford the watch yet - and I had just bought him a Mont Blanc watch for his birthday, so there was no way I could afford two expensive watches in 2 months - I wanted to kill him because when we picked out the Mont Blanc he knew we were getting engaged and he didn't try to stop me from buying it b/c he didn't want to give anything away - so anyway, the point of the story is that now i HAVE to get him this Breitling as a wedding gift - and i promised it to him.....Oh Brother, our FH's and their expensive taste! He drives me nuts BUT I guess its only fair since although the watch is expensive its not nearly as much as my e-ring - im so bad!

Thanks girls for all your opinions. He is the harderst person in the world to shop for. He has always been nothing but so generous to me I can't even begin to thank my FH for all he does for me and the beautiful life we have already begun to build together.
My FH really doesn't like jewelry. He actually made fun of the diamond cuff links this sister go for her husband so I know that wouldn't be him.
The more I think about it the more I feel that this is the perfect gift for him. Plus you do get something to keep forever because you get the baccarat crystal decanter and i'll also get him the dof's from baccarat that he loves.
I can't wait till I graduate dental school an I am actually making some money so I can spoil my FH the way he spoils me.

My DH's birthday is coming up next month and he is drooling over a bottle of Louis the XIII remy martin cognac and your post just inspired me to give it to him for his birthday, i had NO idea what to get him until i saw this post, i was like DUH...lol i know this will be something he'll cherish and drink on special occassions! .. when i think of how much FH spent on a ring.. i think and will ADMIT i would have a hard time spending that much on him for one item... haha..
I think that is a great gift and a great idea, but for me i couldnt never see spending that much money on a bottle of liquor that wont last. Something like a watch or TV (or like Denise said nascar lessons or flight school) for me would be more practical, but Im not your FH. If you can see spending that much on liquor and he will love it, then do it. How will your FH feel about you spending that much on liquor? you said your FH knows all about it, so he knows how much it is, would he be upset?

I think it's a cool idea especially if you know your FH will truly love it. Back in 2004, FH and I went on a cruise and we bought so much liquor in St. Maarten because it's so cheap. He got a bottle of JW blue for $90. Everywhere here wants $200 for it.
