You won't believe this.......

For all those sports fanatics out there, the Giants/Jets game has fallen on my wedding date. That's right folks, 10/7/07 will not only be the happiest day of my life, but it will also be the worst day for many of my friends and famliy, because they won't be able to see the game.

I want to incorporate something into my wedding day with the Jets since FH is a huge fan.

Anyone have any ideas?

So far, I'm thinking a groom's cake with half Jets, half Giants.

We weren't allowed to get married during football season. We have rules in our house...

You could probably go to any bakery to get a grooms cake. Good luck!

LOL. The thought crossed our mind, but we didn't have a choice, by the time we were trying to book, it was slim pickin's. The wrost would be if the Mets and the Yankees both made the playoffs. They could theoretically all be in the same weekend, or even the same day.

we werent allowed to either but it works out ok because we are both teachers! haha

FH is a HUGE sports nut and we are getting married during hockey playoff time so we are having an Islanders ice sculture.

So you can always have a Jets ice sculpture!

You could try Riesterer's in W. Hempstead- someone had posted their Mr. Met cake that they made them, and it was great!!! Since FH is a Jets fan, I feel your pain!!

I went to a wedding in Boston during a Yankees/Red Sox game. There was a small bar in the RH where some of the guys kept ducking out to see the score. When the Yankees won, everyone from NY went NUTS! I know it seems like a little distraction but when you have hardcore fans I think it adds to the excitement!!!

try dortonis bakery in Levittown, they do pretty much almost every type of cake and the cakes are so gooooooodddd.......

Omg! The big joke during our whole wedding planning was that DH was 'allowing' us to get married during football season so I needed to listen to his input on things and be nice to him. He's a huge Eagles fan so I got him an Eagles groom's cake. It was a huge hit! I think something like this would look totally cool half jets/giants. I got mine from Audrey's Bakery (attached is my review here )

Oh wow, that's my dad's birthday. He's a former Jets fan. (They've been so horrible the last few years he got burned and now is rooting for the Browns or some other team.) Anyway, I think the groom's cake sounds like a great idea. I'm doing a Giants grooms cake for my FH. He's a big Giants fan. It's amazing how much NFL-related cake decorating stuff you can get on the Internet. I'm going to have Black Forest make the cake, but I'm buying little helmets and pennants to decorate it myself and give them to the bakery.

And make sure there aren't any TVs at the hall, because you'll lose guests to watching the game. Seriously. Fans. (Course, I'd do it if the Islanders were the Stanley Cup finals.)
