Your Best recs for Bridal Salons!!!???/ RK bridal?
So I had planned on going to RK in a few weeks to try on dresses but I keep reading that it is crazy crazy on Saturdays and unfortunately I cant ask my MOH and bm to take off of work and come on a weekday. I guess I planned on going here because I heard they have a large selection and are very reasonably priced but if it's too crazy and if there's a time limit on dressing rooms, then I would rather not go.
So, first question, is RK really less expensive than other places and if so, what are we talkin? like 50 bucks or like 200+? Has anyone ever tried on a dress at a 'more upscale' place and then ordered your dress from the less expensive place?
And what are your other reccomendations for Bridal Salons in Nassau, North East Queens (like Bayside, Whitestone, etc.) or Manhattan? I would prefer Nassau or the city....and for the salon you reccomend, can you tell me how you think they are priced?
TIA!! Lorin

Hey,
I went to bridal reflections in carle place and i loved them. The attendant that I had was noel. She was super nice and very helpful. In regards to price...I would say that they are average but they do have a pretty nice selection to choose from. They also have a lot of bridal things available on premise...like I bought my flower girl dress there (I went to like 5 stores and bridal reflections was the only one that had both simple and ornate beaded flwr girl dresses) as well as my veil (which went perfectly with my dress! :o), my tiara, and my earings. I saw some really nice garters there too and had I not bought mine already, i would have bought it there. I also didn't realize that they had the shoes I wanted there. Had I know I would have bought that there too lol.
So for me, bridal reflections had almost everything I needed. I would definitely recommend them.

Re: Your Best recs for Bridal Salons!!!???/ RK bridal?
i went to RK on the weekend and it actually wasn't too bad of a wait. i went on a day where it was a lil rainy though - maybe if you try that it will also not be too busy? also try to go early. we waited maybe 10min to try on dresses (abt 5) but it was a longer wait to try on BM dresses, abt 20-30 min.
pricing wise, i didn't inquire but a friend of mine mentioned that she went to rk and got her gown for 50% less than what another salon quoted her.
for a place in queens, try charisol bridal - they dont have too much stuff there but if you know what you want, they can order it for you and they aren't too bad with the pricing if i remember correctly. both my MOH and BM used them for their gowns.
HTHs!

I went to RK to and they had a dress that i was interested in at another store I talked the first salon down to 1500. RKs price was $1559. I didnt try to bargain because i wasn't getting the dress, but i cant imagine them knocking off more then $50. I went during the week spur of the moment. They took me right away. They have a try on dress policy but the consultant let me try on like 10 dresses. I would go when they first open if i was going on the weekend. I can totally see it getting packed in there.

I got my dress at RK and on a weekend. I got my dress for over $300 cheaper. Ive seen dresses there for seriously close to half the price than a regular salon. Their prices ARE unbelievable.
It was raining or anything when I went, but I would suggest showing up VERY early so you can sign up first. Like be there for when they open, actually be there about 15-20 min BEFORE they actually open so when they do your the first one in and the first one to try on. They say there is a time limit or a dress limit but if you get a nice attendant they let you try on more than the limit. They let me. And I found my dress =)))
its a great place. I got my veil there too and they took off 10% since I got my dress there. They have flower girl dresses, BM dresses, headpieces, combs, bags, shoes, accessories (like ring bearer pillow and fg basket and so on) I didnt get my stuff there BUT it is on site. =))) I have had a VERY positive experience thus far with them. Ill let you know how alterations go! =))

i did the no frills with RK and the dresses were about $50 cheaper...i ordered them at the end of march and they just came in
if you have a certain dress in mind go somewhere closer and have them try it on...call Rk and see if its cheaper...then you would just have to fax over the order sheet
Re: Your Best recs for Bridal Salons!!!???/ RK bridal?
Are you referring to your own gown? Because I bought my dress at RK Bridal and I think I got a great deal. I found a similar dress (same designer) at Designer Loft for $700 more. Obviously I liked mine more but I can honestly say that mine has more detail than the one at Designer Loft.
Do you really want to bring all your bridesmaids in to see your dress? You may end up getting so many different opinions that it may be easier to bring one or two other people. But I would definitely check out RK Bridal.

I got my dress from Wedding Atelier in Manhattan. Overall a pretty great experience. Much smaller than Kleinfelds, only a few brides there at a time. But they have a great selection. I asked to only look at gowns under or around 2K and I saw several beautiful things, including the one I bought!

Re: Your Best recs for Bridal Salons!!!???/ RK bridal?
I called Wedding Atelier a few times and every time I got a VERY snotty person who gawked at my budget of 2-3000... LIterally. She made me feel like I was ridiculous for only having that as a budget. After the first call I said maybe it was just a bad rep but after the 3rd I was convinced it was the store and didnt bother to go. AND they asked for my CC to hold the appt, which I was not comfortable with AT ALL. NO other place asked me for that...

I got my dress at RK and did in-store alterations for my gown. I got my bm dresses there and did no frills for that. The majority of the dresses at RK are under $1000- many closer to $600. It was very nice to not have to worry about mudget. I went on a weekday the first time, but the second time I went on a Sunday. I got there about 15 min before they open and I was first to sign up. One trick- if you go during the week and you like your attendant- mine was Gilda (loved her), you actually can make an apt for a second time going (mine did not have any oepnings when i wanted to go though).
