Well the saying is once you marry him, your marrying the family too... How do you ladies feel about your FH's family (parents, siblings).. Do they annoy you, get on your nerve or do you simply love them??

Re: Your future in-laws
I hear ya Leesah. If I have to hear 1 more time how our wedding is 'only 3 months after FBIL' I am going to scream!!!! Maybe just maybe if they had given us a dime to pay for it I would understand, but alas, money has gone to the other couple (who are not paying for the wedding Brides parents are) and nothing for us.

Re: Your future in-laws
I thank my lucky stars everyday that I get along with FMIL, FFIL and FSIL. They resemble my family so i think thats why we all get along great. The best thing is they even get along great with my parents. Im all about family so if we didnt all get along i would feel pretty bummed. And his parents have given us more then my parents in ways of helpnig out for the wedding how about that

Re: Your future in-laws
That's my life too! When we got engaged things got crazy, and I got enaged in 2008 (yes long engagement, but I was only 19 and I want to finish college)
Now, My FSIL (the older one), got engaged Aug 2009. She wanted an October wedding but my FH and I were looking at November. Then we booked for August (just happened) 2011 and out of nowhere she now wants a June wedding.
I really don't care, to me it is not a contest but the fact that she and my FMIL act like it is really bothers me sometimes. Just because she's older means she has the right to hher have her wedding before mine. I am no bridezilla, but the fact that I am going to be her bridesmaid 2 months before my own wedding and she will most likely not go out of her way to worry about my wedding while hers is n process gets under my skin.
But, on the other hand, it is what it is. Her ring is bigger, her budget is bigger and her taste is better. blegh.

I love my future in laws, all of them. We spent Christmas away, and we all got along very well. There were a few tense moments, but overall we had a great time together.
I'm so fortunate to have them in my life.

I love FMIL she is great she is so helpful and down to earth I talk to her like she was my own mom. FFIL is great too we get along good but his wife my FH's stepmom is another story. She has an opinion about everything and always has a way to make you feel dumb. We get along ok but its mostly me biting my tongue and drinking more I try not to see her often but gotta go over there to talk about eparty tonite it should be fun Wish me luck!!

My future-in-laws are amazing. They really are just wonderful people. My FH has 3 sisters and they are great too! One of his sisters and I are best friends. I'm so excited for us to all become one big family.

I love his family, but I do live in the apartment upstairs from their house. Dont get me wrong, they can get annoying at times. But after my last fh I appreciate his family so much more

Re: Your future in-laws
FH's parents are divorced. I LOVE FFIL, he's so easy to be around, easy to talk to, I already call him dad. FMIL, that's a different story. I'm getting use to her sense of humor and personality, I guess. She's a sweet lady and has good intentions, but she really gets on my nerves. She doesn't let things go and harps on everything. I'm dealing. Thankfully, she lives out of state.

Re: Your future in-laws
My FILs are nice people they remind me a lot of my own family so we do get along. Now that the planning is in full effect we will see.

Re: Your future in-laws
Where to begin.....
We've had some VERY rocky times with his family,. including not speaking to them for a year based on things they said about me. But since Fh started really sticking up for me things have turned around. I still think they're nuts (and not always in the lovable way), but we get along better, esp with FMIL. I wish I had that TV situation where they've been thrilled to pieces since Day 1, but that's not the reality at this point.

I love my FIL's. They live really close to us, and my family is about 3 hours away. We we spent lots of time with them, they are like my second family. I really lucked out!
