Re: Your girls would know...PRE CANA
I believe its still mandatory if you want to get married in a church to do pre-cana.
I would think so. That would also depend on the Parish. I know a few people who had civil ceremonies and got married in a Catholic Church a year later. Some say they had a ceremony, but someone told me the Priest only wanted to do a 'blessing.' So it really depends on the Parish.

Yes, they will still need to do Pre Cana to get married in the catholic church

yes you do. It's required to get married in a catholic church.

yup - my cousin just went through this this year. She and her husband have been married 5 years but they just recently decided they wanted it recognized by the church.
They had to meet with the priest, schedule a date, do pre-cana, get their baptismal certificates, have witnesses, etc. They also needed to get a license from town hall. It's not really a 'marriage license' - it has another name, but they needed something from town hall that was a 'renewal of marriage' or something like that.

Thanks for asking this. I think one day FH will want to get our marriage recognized by the church, so now I know that we can.
And I can comfort him, b/c I think he has very small qualms about getting married at the RH.
