Your Groom

Re: Your Groom

My FH and I watched something on Comedy Central today - a skit - where this couple was out to dinner and the guy starts shrieking every time she talks about 'THE WEDDING' - almost like involuntarily. Then, he pees himself! It was so funny and we both laughed - IT WAS TOTALLY US! (minus the pee part!) My wedding in next July and I'm trying to get invitations ordered - FH thinks it'll all just get done my the wedding fairy!

no he understood certain things needed to be done ahead of time...infact at first i was procrastinating and he was the one who kept pushing we have to go look at rh's...i did finally get into full planning mode.

Maybe your FH doesnt understand that many things do need to be done ahead of time. Some dresses take 6-9 months just to come in after you order it and then you also need about 6 weeks before the wedding to do fittings.

mine is the same way..he asked me for all the numbers to the reception halls I was interested in..and he called...of course he ended up calling me on 3 way cuz he couldn't answer a single question..but i thought it was so cute

Mine doesn't get anything! He did go to the venders with me and he went to the videographer himself ( he really cares about that vender which is nice) He thinks every time we go to the RH we should get food! He picked out his GM gifts but that was only 3 weeks ago while I had my girls done so long ago. He just yesterday finished his parents gift! In the beginning he did not understand why we were going so early but he caught on soon. sometimes i get frustrated with him cause he doesnt understand everything but really i wouldnt know so much if it was not for this site! and he 'd never do as much reading on weddings as i have and i hardly have time to teach him everything i know !

Re: Your Groom

FH is totally involved and excited but not overbearing....he doesn't complain when I ask him to come with me and we shoot around ideas to make the day more our own. He even doesn't complain if he has to take off work or leave early to do things....he has been really great.

Groomzilla, I mean FH, is very involved...sometimes too involved. But I love him for it!

Re: Your Groom

At first he thought I was crazy for booking things already....until we almost lost the photographer we wanted. Now he's all about getting things done. He's very involved and I loved it. He's actually upset he won't be helping me pick out my dress. Told him some things still need to be a surprise.

Mine only cares about the DJ, tuxes and food. It is a little annoying sometimes that he doesn't care. But oh well.

Mine said,' I know wedding planning is going to be a ***** so I wont get involved. You want to do it, its all yours.'

I said, 'No, it can be fun... okay I'll do it, not biggie'

ughh...

I wont admit this ever again, but sometimes he does outsmart me.

Re: Your Groom

My FH really has no interest in any of the planning, and that was fine with me b/c that way I got to do everything my way. Only thing he wanted to do was limos.
But, now that we are getting closer, I'm really wishing he would help out a little and show an interest.

LOL!!!
Someone made this post before I could!!!!

Today he was just making me aggrivated. He's usually good about the planning. he likes comming with me to meet the vendors and discuss packages and prices, but today when i wanted to set up an appointment to meet with another photographer his comment was 'Ya know the wedding is a year away...'
I'm trying to get him to understand that you need to book certain things early to save your date and to lock in on this years prices.
He's still amazed about how much things cost. he feels that most of it is a rip off because it's for a wedding. a limo and photographer would be cheaper if it were for just a regular party. That pisses him off.
There are days when i just want to do it all on my own.

Mine loves planning w/ me. He came to all the RH appts and bridal shows, etc.

He's really good about it. I think he likes it more than me sometimes!

Re: Your Groom

All fh says is do whatever makes you happy. He is so not into all the planning he'd rather me decide with his mom or sister. All he wanted to do was the food tasting, everything else is my decision! uuhhhh!

FH loves planning. He's totally into booking whenever I want and comes to all appointments. I set the time table, and he keeps me on task and budget. It really works out well. We had some confusion in the beginning, but now it's all good.

Mine has NO time management- he is totally clueless but he will listen to me eventually!

He was intrested in booking the RH but not much else.
I do most of it on my own and he just writes the check!

Re: Your Groom

FH has been a HUGE help He has been involved in pretty much every part of the planning so far (except for the dress!) and seems to enjoy it. Without him, who would make all the phonecalls?!?! He thought we were doing things a little early until we visited a photographer that was already booking for our time of year. That freaked him a bit!
