I called the agency today and asked them a couple of questions!!! What takes the longest to complete a hometudy in NJ is the fingerprints..so by the time the whole study is complete, it should be mid January, Feb at the latest..BUT the agency said that once the homestudy is written up, our sovial worker can fax a rough draft just saying that she apporves it and they will place an informal hold on our child, as soon as the finger prints come in..we can start sending him pictures and gifts! So now, instead of waiting until Mid January or February, there is a possibility that by Christmas I will know for sure who my child will be!!!! Also, they are sending me his background file, with medical etc for me to review, with pictures of him, I should get it next week. I have so much energy from exciotement I think I need to go to the gym..I cant believe that in less than a month, I may know exactly who will be ours. I also inquired about one of his friends, a boy he plays soccer at the orphanage..they will send me his info as well. We would love to adopt them together..what a nice bond they will have forever!!! I am so excvited I dont know what to do with myself!!!! To those of you who have said prayers...THANKYOU>>>>TRULY>>THANKYOU>>>God is listening and speeding up thr process!!!! Alicia, I have to tell you that I come on this board just to read your updates, as I'm not currently TTC. Your posts get me all choked up. I wish you and your husband the best of luck. Those two boys would be so lucky to have such a loving couple for their parents! May we all be as 'greedy' as you are!

THANKYOU!!!!!!! Now we need a bigger house because I have three files coming and we can only adopt two. I feel like Im gonna throw up, how do I possibly choose?

Thanks so much!!!! You guys always make me feel so good. Sometimes I get nervous, wondering if these boys will even like us...maybe their personlaities are so different and they will think we are wierd..I dont know..I wonder alot..Ive never been a parent before...I have worked with children for the past 18 years, so I know alittle about children..but to wake up one day and be a mom to two boys is scary..Im excited for the challenge and honored to be allowed to raise parents who have passed's children...but what if I suck at it? You guys are so great with telling me these boys are lucky to have us..I forget that..I keep thinking of how lucky I am for this opportunity, that I forget these boys will hopefully find out soon that they have a home waiting for them.
I told our fertility specialists that I wont be coming back, technically we are supposed to do three IUI's, we have done two, and I know this sounds sick, but my heart is just no longer in it....I keep thinking if Im meant to get pregnant, then I will...I think I am meant to adopt because I dont ever want to see the inside of that fertility clinic again, and I only had two cycles. So thanks again..your support has really been so encouraging for me!!! I mean it!

I only come to TTC to read your posts and I can't tell you how happy I am to find this one!!!! You guys are so amazing, those boys are going to be in wonderful hands. With all the love and energy and excitement you obviously have for this, there's no way you're going to suck at this - completely impossible!! And to take in the first boy's best friend, or at least even consider it... these boys are going to love you guys so much. They may get the best Christmas present of their lives this year and you and DH will be the ultimate Santa Claus!

Thank you...you guys are so great at building my confidence up!!! Unfortunately I dont think these boys will know by Christmas..because we'll still be waiting for our fingerprints to come in..once those are in and the homestudy is complete, then the boys will be told they have a family. I am still unsure when we will travel. I actually want Dex (DH) to stay here, Iw ant to share this experience with him, but he only gets three weeks vacation, and he'd use up two in Ethiopia, so I would rather him stay here and work and save those days for when we get back, so he can work on attaching and we make day trips, like to the shore or the city, etc, just really get to know each other. Ive asked my mom to come with me to Ethiopia and she is very excited, shes always wanted to go to Africa and she is thrilled to help bring her grandsons home!!!! It will eb nice for me to spend two weeks alone with my mom as well, she lives in Oklahoma and we dont spend much alone time together these days..Ill have her all to myself in Ethiopia! YEA! My family is being so suppotive, my nephew is thrilled that he will have cousins his age and my nephews plan to write to the boys and sending them pictures. This is so amazing, I feel like Im in a dream. One of my closest friends is in the secret service, I asked her if she can do anything to speed up our fingerprints, not sure if she can, but if she can, she will. Thanks again...my self esteem has surely shot up because of all the nice things you guys have said!!!!

This is really wonderful! I hope that your posts inspire someone else to adopt from Ethiopia! By the way, maybe your husband can get more leave time for paternity leave?
