Your shower involvement?

Your shower involvement?

How involved were you / are you / will you be with your bridal shower? I'm wondering if I should be doing something or paying for something How does this traditionally work?

i believe my bridesmaids are throwing it for me...thats how my FH's sister's was in the summer...we all chipped in for it.

I had zero involvement, actually less then zero haha, but it was perfect. My mom and FMIL split the bill for my shower because my friends are broke

I wasn't involved in my shower at all. It was supposed to be a suprise, although no one knew that I knew about it.

The only involvement I had so far was sending my sis an email w/ all the names & addresses & numbers.... I am also going to give her the Registry Cards. She also asked me if there is anything I suggest for that day... I told her I don't need to know where the place is but I want to know the date so bad that way I can look nice...

They won't let me get involved with anything else and I doubt I am going to know the date... I just love to plan things but this one I was told to stay out of....

I think the mother or bridal party or both traditionally host and pay for the shower. I have been involved in helping plan a date for it.

So far I've given my Mom a list of names and addresses, my registry cards, and I mentioned a place I like where she might want to hold it. But that's it I think.

the only thing i did was give the guestlist with addresses and staying out of the rest

mine is not a surprise... so I know when & where it is, but had nothing to do with picking the location. I also gave the guest list. And I requested recipe cards be included with the invitations (which is something I've done for friends' showers.. each guest then brings back their favorite recipe to contribute to a recipe book for the bride.. nice to have a recipe from all your firends and relatives)

im not involved at all. its going to be a suprprise. but i did make a list for my mom. thats about it.

my MOH just asked me for a list. thats about all i know and all im going to know i think.

i have 90% involvement. i chose everything and have paid for decorations and misc. stuff. i even designed and sent the invites. my MOH bought the favors and my mother is paying for the room and the food.

My MOH is planning it with my Mom and FMIL.

I guess I am somewhat involved...I made up the list with names and addresses, I suggested locations just to help out, and I bought the favors....it was something I really liked for the shower and wanted to get it, so I did..and this way I helped without ruining it being a surprise

I just had to give my MOH a list of names and addresses....what she does with it is up to her. I have spoken to my mother regarding things that I don't want at all and I know my mom will stress that to the bridal party.

My parents are throwing the shower for me because I don't have a bridal party. As much as my mom would have liked it to be a surprise, she lives in CT and I am here, I had to be more involved. It all worked out though...

i let MOH, my mom and FMIL know what i'd like and that i dont want her fitting the whole bill. so if the BMs are annoying and don't help - to let me know and I will chip in.

I don't know how it traditionally works but for me, my mom is planning it. Originally she wanted me to be the main person to plan all the details but I have so much else going on right now that I said its up to her to plan, otherwise I'd rather not have one.
