The best gifts that I ever recieved was from my cousin...she got us the necklaces & earings to wear the day of the wedding, slippers (to wear at the reception) & gift certificates towards our hair and makeup the day of....(we all really appreciated this becase of how tight money can be)
I love this idea, but my MOH hates it. She thinks that it's not a good idea to give a gift that is useful for MY wedding. It should be something they can use after. I just thought they'd rather save $$$ on items that they would have to pay for.
thoughts anyone?

me three.
but in the end, i think what you are suggesting is an extremely generous gift.
the best thing happened once for a wedding i was in - the bride and her mom paid for our hair but didn't tell us till the lady at the salon told us individually that 'everythinghad been taken care of'... it was a super surprise cause i had $100 extra in my pocket!

I *think* I am going to offer to pay for their hair (not makeup though) and then also get them something from the Coach outlet. Everything depends on the amount of money I have. The only definite is a gift from Coach. I'm planning on going there this summer.

Me four. But whatever you give is great. I think I am going to give something for the day of the wedding and then something else. I was thinking about personalizing frames for each bm and then putting a picture of us in it, in addition to whatever else I buy.

I would think that what you're doing is great -I'd personally love to save the $$ on hair and make up. But if you decide not to pay for their hair, the equivalent is something like a coach wristlet.

I am giving the same thing. I mean, perhaps they won't be able to wear the dress again, but the jewelry and such is something that they should be able to wear again. the slippers too. I don't see why these things wouldn't be reusable just because they are for the wedding. And the cash they are saving is certainly usable after the wedding.

Re: Your thoughts needed.....
I think I'm going to give them jewelry for the day and manicure/pedicures. Then something else personalized that they can use, not sure what yet.... I was just in a wedding and we got the jewelry, mani/pedicures, personalized bag, personalized jewelry box, gift certificate for another mani/pedi and a little bag personalized with 'Get me to the church on time' body lotion and gel....it was very cute. But overall I think the girls would appreciate anything that you give them!!

Me too.. Also I am not really a jewlery person, so when I do wear it, I'm kinda picky. I would hate to give someone jewelery that they would possibly not like, and then have them wear it in the wedding. Jewelery tastes are different for each person... JMO though

I might get them a gift card too, not sure.
I think your idea is great

Re: Your thoughts needed.....
I think paying for some of the BM-associated costs is great! When I was a BM, and I've only been one once, the expenses involved were a lot for me (I was still in school and money was tight), and I appreciated saving on hair and jewelry (especially since you might not wear it again). My bride was very generous though and also got us these great robes - I love mine and I do still wear it at home! If my budget allows, I'm going to do hair & day-of jewelry and throw in something else too, but if my budget won't allow it, I'm only going to do hair & day-of jewelry, and that's what I would've preferred to get as a BM had the bride been forced to choose. JMO.

Re: Your thoughts needed.....
I'm doing the same thing, that's what most people usually do, give a gift that they can wear the day fo the wedding, thats kinda rude of her to tell you she doesnt want it because it's for your wedding
