What is the budget you set for your dress? Have you set up an account just to accomodate your dress price?
My dress: Good Lord I am so picky. I want something very classical looking. I love dresses from the 40's and 50's they fit your body without looky trampy. I love watching old movies and documentaries about stars during that era. I dont know if anyone saw the Dorothy Dandrige movie? The dress she wore to the awards (white) something like that but more flowing. I've come to the conclusion I might have to get it made. Which is why I went looking for fabric and accessories.

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
The budget I had originally set was $1000 (that didn't happen). Let just say when all is said and done from the dress, tax, alterations, veil, tiara I hope to keep it under $5000.

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
Oh and I didn't set up an extra account. I am just using the money I had saved up from all my years of working! Thank Mom and Dad for making me do that through the years!!!!!

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
no budget-- when i went looking i would just try on and not look at the tags and i promised myself if i fell in love with a dress i would look at the price tag and whatever it was i would just save up... LUCKILY i happened to fall for a VERY cheap dress (which never happens to me) but if it was going to happen only once in my life-- i'm glad it did this time!!!!

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
I went over my dress budget a lil bit but in the end i couldn't be happier because i picked a dress i really loved and couldn't picture myself wearing anything else on my big day.

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
Thankfully my dress was only 550! (org 600 but davids was having a sale)... so I bought it on the spot!
If it was more $$ I would have had to scrimp and save even more.. but saiving so much money on the dress allowed me to splurge happily on other stuff.. (and dont get me wrong I woudl have paid whatever the dress I fell in love with ended up being.. but more $$ woudl have hurt)

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
I'm trying to keep it around 1,000 I'm only gonna wear it once, I just can't see spending more than that. I have a little more than 1/2 the money aside so far.... XOXOXO Kitty

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
My budget was $2000 including dress, alteration, veil or whatever hair accessories, slip and shoes. I got my dress for $960 and will hopefully come under the budget with the rest of the stuff to purchase

Re: Your Wedding Dress?
I didn't want to spend more than 1k.. Found mine for $850 in my bridal shop.. found it for $546 somewhere else and my bridal shop matched the price so I was under budget with my dress..including my headpiece and veil. all came to $845!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes...I am a bargain shopper - I take after my mother!

My budget is 1000 for everything, I have been bargin shopping for everything and there are websites out there that will get you a great deal of an expensive dress. I am going in that direction.
