Did anyone NOT find there dream dress yet?? I haven't even started looking in stores and I am already getting fustrated. The one that I had orginally fell in love with - some of my family members don't like it.
I'm feeling discourgaed because everything I look at - someone doesnt like it. I know I shouldnt care because I'll be wearing it but I still feel crappy.
Is anyone still shopping for her dress?? Sorry had to vent.

My wedding is in feb and I didnt order my gown till mid august.....I made myself crazy.......take a deep breath...go to alot of places to look try on styles that you hate and the ones you love...they all look different on different people........try to get a friend who can make you feel more like you are having a big day of playing dress up versues someone who is going to constantly remind you that you need to get a dress!!!....you will def find the one and it will look gorgeous!!!

i havent started looking yet... i will start in 2 -3 months....
my mom is ehhhh about some dresses i have picked out... BUT things look different once you try them on.... they may not like ur dress now but it may be drop dead gorgous once its on you...

Thanks girl - I'm just getting depressed over dresses. I just have to start looking soon. I only have a little over 10 month left.

a little advice...
go for a dress you love....that YOU feel wonderful in.
some people i am sure do not like me dress..but i dont care..i found it..put it on..loved it.
I would go for what has the WOW factor to you, esp once the makeup and hair n all is a complete package you will look even more wow!

I love love love my gown. My mom and aunt werent crazy about it but i dont care. I love it and Im the only opinion that matters.

I went through magazines and ripped out the pics of the ones I liked and stuck them in a folder I kept so that I could bring them in to the dress shop and show them the ones I wanted to try on. Then if I didnt like them on me I would ask the girl there to bring me out some that she thought were close to what I described or showed her and she did and guess what?? I LOVED one of the dresses she picked and that was the ONE!! Definitely start shopping around now since you dont really know exactly what you want. HTH

DOn't get frustrated. I felt a little that way too when I was looking. You still have some time, depending on the designer. of course.
I tried on a lot of dresses very different styles, cuts, designers, etc. I think what I learned in the end is that don't stick to any of the above...For example, don't stick to just strapless, try everything becuase you never know how it will look on you. There were somein pics I thought I this will look great then I tried it on and was like it's okay, it makes me look short, etc.
Don't lose hope, you;ll find THE ONE

I totally recommend going by yourself once or twice. That way you can really pick out the dresses that YOU like and not what mom, or grandma, or your aunt likes.
It's in my personality to please everyone else and pick something that will make everyone happy - ya know? But I realized that this was one area where IIIIIII had to make the decision.
I tried on dresses once with my mom, and then I went and got my dress on my own after that. That way Mom got to be a part of the dress shopping process - but I ultimately picked it out without anyone's opinion.

I ditto everything you wrote. I haven't even had the urge to look but just booked something this weekend. I think I'm ready. I really hope I won't have to go all over the place. I'm getting to crunch time and don't want to get frantic.

Don't listen to your family, you get what you like and what you want to wear. The original dress I wanted to try on isn't made anymore so that broke my heart. I am going to start looking next month.

Oh thank god, my wedding is the week before yours and I'm having serious dress drama right now. The dress style I always thought I would wear I decided I dont like so I'm changing the look. I've been looking every spare moment but I think I've narrowed it down.
And you're the only one that has to love your dress!!

If you choose a dress that you love and its the one, then forget what everyone else says, who cares, its your wedding, it your dress. Sorry to hear this

You won't really know what you love until you go to stores in person and put 'em on!!!
So many brides end up picking gowns they never would have thought they liked. Go with an open mind, and bring someone who's opinion you trust.

I found a beautiful lace dress very romantic and elegant. looked like something JFK JR. wife Carolyn wore, and family members said it looked like a curtain :( Back to the drawing board!
