Your wedding surprise

Your wedding surprise

What's that one thing you will have or would like to have at your wedding that you would keep a surprise for all the guests until they see it that day? I guess this also goes hand in hand with what's that one thing you would like to have that you cant afford? Well answers to both would be great, just wondering becuase I would like to have something that we would really enjoy as a little something extra and the we could keep as a secret but guests would be 'wowwed by'. Doesn't necessaryily have to be a traditional add on but if so, thats fine.

Re: Your wedding surprise

i have a single friend who always had this dream of doing a surprise entrance at her future wedding. Her idea was to have all the guests in the hall, ready for the announcements to begin. The lights all shut off so that it's absolutely black in the room. The music starts (which people would assume to be for the announcements). The lights turn on - revealing that the bride & groom and their bridal party are already on the dance floor, dancing the night away.

I dunno if she'll do it, but it's been a dream of hers.

As for me, i dunno. i guess if i could afford extra stuff i'd like to have a smoke machine to make it seem as tho me & FH are dancing on clouds for our first dance. I saw this once. Very pretty, but not worth all the money if you don't have the liberty of whatsoever your heart desires. lol.

I'm trying to have an Irish dance troupe come and preform, as a surprise for my parents.

I wouldn't say it's really a 'wow' thing but we're going to keep the details quiet. I don't want everyone knowing what my dress looks like, what our first dance song is, etc... until that day.

me too. everyone wants to know what our song is. We are also taking a few dance lessons, so it will be a suprise that we actually will look coordinated, and not just rocking back n forth.

Re: Your wedding surprise

I stole the idea from another LIW bride, but I'm probably going to get Mr. Met to come to our cocktail hour. FH practically trampled a kid to get a picture with him last time we were at Shea

i REALLY want belly dancers to perform as a surprise- but i told FH and he thought it was a ridiculous idea-
I also am in love with Indian culture- so i would love to have a whole henna ceremony the day before the wedding....

I am actually hiring Mr.Met for the wedding. It is going to be a big surprise for FH , b/c we wanted to have him but he said it was too expensive. Then his mom said she would do it for him. He doesn't know we are doing it!

:) of course if I could afford it, I would want to do little cupcakes for every guest to take home with them. I love to bake and cupcakes are my favorite thing in the whole world. :)

I also wanted a nice coordinated wedding dance and then break out into a fun song..in addition, i wanted a cigar roller for my FH bc he loves cigars (yuckie)

Re: Your wedding surprise

I really would like to have an hour added on to the reception with a cigar roller, photo booth, steel drum band and a buffet of comfort food...mini burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries etc. But this will only happen if I get a bonus that is by far more than I expect it to be.

I keep telling FH that we can NOT waddle through our first dance. He has no sense of rhythm....

Re: Your wedding surprise

I've always wanted a choreographed fun dance with the bridal party but since I'm not having a large bp I'm going to have all the really close gals and not tell anyone else... like my mom and aunts !!!

Our candy buffet was a surprise to our guests. We had the RH keep it 'under cover' until our DJ played Def Leopard 'pour some sugar on me'. As soon as the song started DH and I went over and 'unveiled' the table and the DJ invited all guests to come up and get their sugar fix. You would have thought everyone was 5 again, it was soooooo cute to watch them. Would you believe they ate all the gummy bears before any other of the chocolate candies went LOL

FH and I are obsessed with the movie---the wedding singer---

He is going to sing love stinks to me....just like Adam Sandler does.

And we have a couple people that know about it that are going to yell Love stinks like they do in the movie.

Cant wait to see everyones faces..LOL
