Z100's $100,000 Shopping Spree

If you won a $100,000 shopping spree what would you buy?

I would buy a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe in Bright red or Metallic Blue. Im not sure of the real names for the colors.

I think Danielle would want to buy a small SUV. She likes The Nissan Murano, The Mazda Tribute, The GMC Envoy...and something else that I forgot.

I think the rest of the money, we would purchase items that we need for the wedding, including paying off our vendors.

If we have any money left, Danielle and I would probably spend it on furniture for our apartment, and clothing for our Honeymoon.

It's nice to dream Scott, but i doubt 100G would cover all that you listed there.

put some towards a house and invest the rest. oh and spend at least a couple G's on clothing and accesories and gifts for the family

Yes it would. The G35 is about $35,000

The Suv is about $30,000

We only need around $6,000 for our wedding stuff.

Furniture will cost us around $5,000 maybe less

Thats only $76,000 with all that.

But while we're dreaming, let's assume the 100G would be tax-free

In that case, I'd like to pay off my wedding, pay off my school bills buy a new car and and give some money to my parents.

What's a gift tax now a days? 48% ... wow, that doesn't leave you much!

As tempting as shopping would be, I'd make a large payment to my student loans and put the rest towards a brand new house to be built to our wishes!

I would quickly write a check to pay off my student loans and credit card debt, pay off the wedding and save the rest!

Another $30,000 on a new car for Jim (cause he isnt getting into my baby after it's spiff-tified)

I guess the rest on a downpayment for a house.

I would quit one of my 4 jobs (the non-school related one), move my wedding to the evening on the same day at the same place if it's still available, pay off some school loans, take a trip to Italy with FI, put some toward the wedding, and save what's left over. Oh, I'd also give about 10% to charity.

hmmm...put about 25k for school loan...we'd take a honeymoon (about 5k), donate some to make a wish or animal fund...i'd buy a honda crv and take friends and family out to a nice dinner and put the rest towards a house...oh, and about 10k on the dentist and new clothes!
