Bridal Shower Candle Poem (edited with pics)

I'm doing this for my friend's shower tomorrow - just thought I'd share.....

All you do is buy a basket and fill it with the candles listed below:


A Basket of Candles for ____

A basket of candles that come in a pair
In all different colors, for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company, you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night.
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine’s Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through
The cream anniversary pair, will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you’d put these away
Take the light blue ones out-for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left - for the big 2 5
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations ____ and _____
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don’t forget-blow them out before bed!

That's so cute! There is also a funny one with cleaning stuff- It starts off with 'when FH is not mr. clean (& you hold up a bottle of mr. clean) and goes from there- anyone seen that one?

I found these 2 versions of the cleaning poem online:


'Dear Sarah, You are entering a new ERA. There will
come a THYME in your marriage when you find 'groom's
name' is not always MR. CLEAN, but don't send out the
S.O.S. because he might VANISH. 'Groom's name' will
always bring you CHEER and you will find him to be
your white DOVE. When you are together you will find
JOY, so remember your PLEDGE and give him your ALL. To
'bride's name' and 'groom's name' the Best of Luck &
Good Fortune in the years to come. And may 'groom's
name' always be your HONEY.

Variation: This one is a letter utilizing mostly
cleaning products and health products. This is to be
presented by the bridal party to the bride in front of
guests:

Dear 'bride's name', It is only fair that we let
(Bride's name) in on a little SECRET. (Groom's name)
may be FANTASTIC but wait until (Bride's name) finds
out that he is not MR. CLEAN. He'll expect her to be a
DYNAMO in the kitchen and he thinks all women should
MOP & GLOW. At night he'll wake you up at DAWN to
SNUGGLE up close. We all AGREE that (Bride's name) and
(Groom's name) will have a very happy LIFE together.
Our wish for you is that your home be filled with JOY
and you remain as happy as ever in the FUTURE.

I just saw this done last weekend at my cousin's fiance's bridal shower....It was so great!!!
Her maid of honor read the poem and each bridesmaid gave her a different set of candles...
I started to cry it was sooo nice.....
I hope someone does that for me at my shower.......=)
I love the picture of the basket too.....
