Can you go to Oheka for just pictures?

Is it like a place you can just stroll on the grounds or is it totally private?

i believe you can if there is no other event that day- for a rather LARGE fee, of course! LOL- i don't actually remember what the fee was.

I don't think you can. They're private, but call them to be sure. If Old Westbury Gardens, Planting Fields, they're significantly less pricey than Oheka.

on their site it says

'You can take photos at the Estate as long as there is no other event at the Estate and the fee is $500 per hour and your photographer must supply us with insurance.'

the insurance part i think means that u just have to prove that the photographer has insurance

If you are not sure, you can take pictures at the Old Westbury Gardens, its just as beautiful, but for a fee, of course

Well if it is for your wedding more then likely they will have a wedding there that day too. If you mean for a shoot like an engagement shoot I think they may let you. I thought everyone there was so nice and accomidating even before I booked there. In fact you are giving me an idea to go there and take pics for our anniversary or a day after shoot. Thanks for that!!

It is so funny that you ask that because I was just wondering the same thing after me and my FH went to look at the place for a reception. I fell in love with it but not the price of course !! I would love to take engagement photos there though !! Let me know if you find out !!

I just called Oheka. There is no public meeting facility/restaurant. They are working on it now.

Basically you will have to schedule the $500/hr fee to take photographs.

Unfortunately we will be in Bora Bora on our HM during this event.

It would have been nice to have a few pics at Oheka as well but it's ok. We will be taking pictures at Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Central Park, and SoHo.

I know Oheka is a hotel as well. I think we'll plan a weekend getaway there one of these weekends.

Wow it is prolly less money to stay there over night than to spend $500 to take pictures for an hour. And if you are a guest and you take casual pictures- it is not like they can say anything about it!

I think it would be around the same price.

FH and I were just saying how we want to take little weekend getaways.

One of my friends has a super busy husband and they take weekend getaways in Manhattan and they LIVE in Manhattan. Since they don't have the time luxury to fly somewhere or even drive somewhere, they'll book a hotel and have a 'getaway'. I thought that was such a cute idea.

I've never stayed at a nice hotel in Manhattan since I live here.

Anyways, my parents live in Huntington now and I would normally not consider staying at a hotel in Huntington but it could be a local weekend getaway for us.

I think a regular room is like $325-$375 a night so you are better off staying there and taking casual pics then!
