Cheap outdoor engagement shoot locations

Hi all! JUST booked April 19th to take our engagement pictures!! Most places we were interested in taking pictures we have to get a permit & pay over $100- so not into that if we don't have to :( Want an outdoorsy location somewhere on LI hopefully the snow will be gone and the grass will be green by then!!(We're in Hauppauge & the Photographer is in Bohemia) Right now the only location on our list is Planting Field but its $100 for the permit-- help!

I am having the same issue... are you using Marco? I contacted them about going to the arboretum and he said its $100 to go there. They said that there is a park in Oakdale that is free... I think its Byron Lake.

Brookwood Hall park in east islip is free.. FH plays softball there in the summer and I've always admired it. There's a little lake/pond and lots of funky trees. There's also Northport harbor or blydenburg park in hauppauge.

My friend did her photos at the Massapequa preserve and they came out beautifully. I don't think you need a permit either but I guess you can always call the town to check

When I went to Timber Point the wedding coordinator there showed us pictures from a nearby park with an old worn down barn that would be PERFECT but for the life of me I cant remember the name of it and now that we booked elsewhere I feel guilty contacting the woman for that name even though she was fabulous lol.. A few people have told us about Byron Lake so maybe we'll go and scout it out.. does anyone know if theres a site fee/permit needed at Sagamore Hill, Hecksher Park or Chelsea Mansion?

I took mine at Argyll park in Babylon with no fee and I really liked how they came out.

I took mine at the roslyn duck pond- no permits or fees and there are plenty of different spots you can move around to. The pictures came out really nice!
