Re: chuppah ideas

Do you know anyone who quilts? My cousin's mother quilted a beautiful chuppah for my cousin's wedding and we used it as our something borrowed. It's so beautiful and now hangs in my cousin's house, but she is offering it for everyone's wedding so it can become a family tradition.

The first one is the Chuppah we're getting. It's about $500 from Flower Michele.

Re: chuppah ideas

I love this one. I want to do it with different poles and find a heavy piece of lace to use as a throw and then as a baby blanket later on.

You make them?? How??

I would think to take 4 planks or smaller and hammer them together and also use L joints to join them into a square. Then take 4 more pieces and hammer them together and use L joints to make the leg stands. I would also get smaller pieces to nail to the end of the legs so that it stands evenly. Paint it white. Get some tulle and wrap the whole thing up. Throw in some silk flowers and ... a chuppah is born!

Re: chuppah ideas

Some of the prettiest chuppas I've seen have been simple ones that use a family quilt, or several talises (Jewish prayer shauls).
