Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

So I posted about some of these bands a while back, but we know our wedding is getting fairly soon and we'd really like to make a decision on a band. We are considering Scott Yanney of Faze 4, as well as a band suggested to us at Hank Lane, although we are interested in going back there and hearing a few more of their bands. If anyone has experience with any 8-9 piece band from Hank Lane please let me know and FM me price if you know! We liked Scott Yanney but we feel that all of the Faze 4 bands are very strong vocally but we think there may not be enough focus on instrumentals for our taste. With HL, we loved what we heard in the office but you have to be very trusting with them because you are not able to see a dvd and they don't showcase. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

i was in a wedding a few weeks ago where they used Scott Yanney from Faze 4, they were amazing! so good! and actually the instruments were very good...his wife plays the bongos and interacts with the guest, its really cool. they also played at two other wedding i've been to in the past three years or so and both other times they were very good as well.

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

I booked with Michael Harts band from Hank Lane. i booked based upon the demo we listened to in the office. Hank Lane has an amazing reputation. I have been to weddings where other HL bands performed (Kevin Osborn) but not ours. but a friend of a friend just used Michael Hart and said the band was amazing.

Clearly i am biased here.

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

Thanks!! I have also heard great things about both Michael Hart and Kevin Osborne. My concern is that I have never heard of anyone using that particular band that was recommended to us. I want to trust them but I just wish that if we went with them, we used a band that I had heard of before. Were any others suggested to you in your meeting?

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

Michael Hart band is 9 pieces and we added 1 extra to it, so we have 10.

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

That is exactly what we are thinking of doing. Scott Yanney is more anyway than the band originally suggested (Russ Bennett), so we are considering checking out what that same price would get us at HL. Can you FM me an idea of how much you are paying for 10 pieces (or how much it would have been for 9), plus ceremony and cocktails if you are using them? Thanks so much. The other issue with Scott Yanney is that their base price + strings for ceremony is a lot, and they only give you one piece for cocktails which seems a little skimpy given how much they are charging overall.

the wedding i was at a few weeks ago had 3 pieces for the cocktail hour...so you can definitely negotiate that with Scott Yanney

Re: Hank Lane vs. Faze 4

I'm using Rhythm Revue from HL. It's 10 pieces, plus we negotiated 2 pieces for ceremony and 3 for CH. I also met with Faze4 but, we only heard the original Faze4 and the new Faze4 and I thought that they were asking too much money.
HL has an amazing reputation and they have over 20 bands so don't be too concerned if you haven't heard of the band they recommend. I still haven't heard of anyone that used the band we chose, but I'm pretty confidant after listening to their CD and knowing HL's reputation.
If you want any info FM me!
