Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

I went to Tri County last weekend on the hunt for a veil & tiara, and then I went to the 3rd floor to check out rings. I saw one ring that would be a perfect fit with my e-ring (and it was only like $700!!)......but I'm wondering if I can trust the jewelers there- wasn't there a thing on the news a while ago about one of them selling fake stuff? I found a lot of the people there to be arrogant, so I'm really not sure if I'm going to buy my ring from Tri County.

Has anyone bought jewelry there? Especially wedding bands?? Who did you use and did you have a good experience?

ETA: OK.....so I just checked which business cards I took when I went to Tri County last weekend- one of the rings I like is from Turkan, but the one I really really liked was from Diamond Edge??? Does anyone have info on them?

Re: Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

Go to Gabriel Jewelers. They are great and the people there are nice as well. A friend of mine bought a diamond bracelet there for a price you would not believe. Ask for Barbara

Sam @ Diamond Roof

PS - Don't be afraid of getting jewelry from a Flea Market such as Tri-County. All if not most have their main store in the Diamond District and it's quality stuff. You also get an appraisal with every piece so worse comes to worse, get it checked out by an outside source to play it safe.

Re: Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

MY fh got me a diamond tennis bracelet from Tri-County about 5 years ago, and honestly, as much as I love it, it's a piece of crap. He paid A LOT of $$$ for it, and it has been nothing but aggravation. I have already lost 4 diamonds, and some of the gold 'latches' (on the underside of the bracelet) are so thin, I've had to get them redone. We live in Manhattan, otherwise I would have brought it back to the vendor to fix, rather than eat all the extra money we've put into it. I guess the moral of my story is, just be wary - like you would be purchasing jewelry anywhere else.
Good luck!

Re: Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

My 1st wedding jewelry....

we had a diamond already, brought it to Turkan Jewelers (when you get off the escalator, they're ahead of you in the left corner)

They mounted my diamond in a really pretty setting and I got my matching diamond band from them

I wore my engagement ring & diamond band every single day for 10 years - to the gym, in the pool, at the beach, gardening! - you name it! - and never, ever had a single problem with it....

The same owners are still there, since 1994 when I purchased my jewelry from them....

I would def. use them again!

Re: Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

We get all our jewelry from Sam at Diamond Roof. My ering, our wedding bands, my wedding day jewelry, my FH watch..everything came from there. My bro also gets all his jewelry there. We got my Ering appraised and he charged us 7000 less than it was worth!! I have gone to other jewelers there in the past b4 I met Sam and got swindled. You have to be careful who u go to, but there are a few good jewelers there! When u get off the escalator hes on ure right hand side against the wall!

Re: Has anyone bought jewelry at Tri-County?

I just bought my rings there on Friday. My Aunt uses Gabriel all the time and loves them. I used Milano(or something like that) and had a great experience!
