Hempstead House, Sands Point HELP!

Please Help! This place looks amazing! I love the feeling of Oheka castle however was shot down when I realized how expensive it was. I have been doing some research online about Hempstead house and my Fiance and I love the old castle look (He is a history buff))! This would be perfect for us! There is not much information or reviews of it. Does anyone know how many people this place would accommodate? I am thinking I will have about 250 or under. 'My Fair Wedding' Episode Jennifer Coppola was married there and it did not look like alot of people. I am only just starting to plan.. I have about 1 1/2 years before I want get married but my heart is already set on this... I basically know that you rent it empty and need to get a party planner or be very organized to bring everything in yourself. Does this generally make it more expensive then a regular catering hall? Did anyone get married there or have any photos of the inside?

Thanks!!

Lisa

Re: Hempstead House, Sands Point HELP!

I know Philip Stone caters there, not sure if it's exclusive. They have pics on their site. It's beautiful but it's very pricey since everything is al la carte and you have to pay a site fee. The catering alone starts around $200 pp I believe.

Re: Hempstead House, Sands Point HELP!

We looked there... the ABSOLULTE most it will hold is like 270... which is a major reason we didn't book there... we're inviting 350 so that would've been cutting it way too close. The woman I met with said that Philip Stone will work with a budget.

Re: Hempstead House, Sands Point HELP!

Anyone book their wedding at Hempstead House? I love it but I am concerned about a budget. I'd love to know the catering prices or even the list of caterers that they work with. Anyone know???

Re: Hempstead House, Sands Point HELP!

I only know of Lessings & Philip Stone that work out of there...

I know their site fee is huge (like 8 - 10K) on top of the per person price for food and everything they have to bring in... FBIL (who works for Philip Stone) says it can run at 200 - 250 pp...
