How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
Let me say first that I am an absolute FREAK about being in the sun. I wear sunscreen and a hat even in the winter.BUT.... I don't want to look like a white fleshy mess in my dress, so Im sucking it up and bringing on the skin cancer.,
I want to do this in the most minimally time consuming way.
Anyone know anything about tanning?
How soon before the wedding do I have to start?
How many sessions?

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
I am going to start 2 months before. I burn easily so I want to be able to get a base and then tan. I go in the lowest booth for the least amount of time and still burn. So I want to make sure that I am not bright red.

I would start off about 2-3 months before, just do 8 mins in a low intensity bed at first about once or twice a week and then work your way up to more time and a higher power bed.

Ok, after everyone's done laughing at my pasty asss--- To answer your question-- my girlfriend that tans went about 4 weeks before, session one she would just do a little- to get a base- then go a little more each time and finally- she would be done about 5 days before- to give it time to set and make sure she didn't get dry or peel-- she uses plenty of creams! HTH!
She is so tan- next to me- OMG what a difference!

I go tanning every year. You wont peel if you just start off easy. There is no rush. My tanning salon has a unlimited min's a month plan which is great. I start off slow 5-6 mins and move up to 15-20 mins. Just start slow and you will look great.

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
Im starting now for mine. BUT thats b/c i want to be non casper by my showers (2/10 and 3/3)..might even add a spray tan if i cant do it in 3 weeks haha.. usually 3 weeks does me good though...i love the hollywood tan stand ups.. they have monthly pkgs .. i only do the mid level or high level booth there b/c with my whiter then white skin i need those bulbs (the lowest booth has more uv burning rays (i dont remeber if its uva or uvb).. and i totally burn with the 42, not with the 54 and 60 (booth 'types).
if i was you id use a higher intensity booth with lower time..
and you shoudlnt burn at all... and will be pretty tan!
hth!

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
Start 1 month before... Go to Hollywood tans. They will [hopefully] explain the entire UV system to you and teach you about each machine. They will start you out doing minimal amounts of time, and the max amount of time is 8 minutes [if you use that machine.] So you will get tan QUICK. Technically, i go there 1 week befre an event and I just go 3 or 4 days in a row and Im toasty... Hopefully when you go you will have someone with 1/2 a brain that can explain it to you
And no offense to any girls who work at a salon, Im not targeting you, I was once a HT employee
so I know major dummmmmbasses who worked there.

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
I'm crashing! Don't go in for more than 5 minutes your first time! I went in for 8 and I was burned so badly I had blisters (and not in fun places). The people that work there didn't advise me correctly!

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
I have the exact opposite dilemma..I'm going to try to avoid the sun like the plague...I tan in seconds..well get darker as I was born tan
and FH is whiter than my dress..
I don't want to be any darker..so SPF50 till July 14th after the wedding SPF 5 for Mexico

Re: How soon before the wedding should you go tanning?
I plan on starting next week. I only want to go 1- 2 times a week. I don't want to look so tan at my wedding. I am a very fair person, just want to look like me but not super pale.Welcome New Vendors
